View Full Version : Why don't bouncers count?

This question sorta occured to me, the answer is probably simple, I haven't thought about it. Why don't bouncers count? I figure the point behind paintballing is to simulate getting "tagged" by someone elses ball.

So if you're shot, and you know it, why aren't you considered out? I guess nothing prevents people from calling themselves out, but still. This shot here, while being f***in hilarious, is clearly a hit. http://forums.paintballdojo.com/showthread.php?s=b68d00180b0d998235dcf8836397aab9&threadid=148605 (thanks to whoever originally posted this link in another thread)
but if you read it, he stays in the game because the ball didn't break. There's issues of proof, obviously, but most honest people would call themselves out, I think. The proof is in the paint though, I guess. (sorry, couldn't resist.)

Peace.

well i have always been told that you are still in the game if the paint doesn't break on you. once you have a break, out of air, or out of paint, you are considered out.

i play body hits only including your body head legs and arms but no hands guns and feet shots

i usualy think its a hit if i get a bouncer but then when i see no paint i consider myself still in

heh it is as you say very simple.
it is more realistic
if you get shot it dosn;t allways kill you straight away for example if you are shot in the leg it wont't kill you
(although it will hurt alot ^_^)
but as it would be to much hasle for players to do this
whenever a ball dosn;t break it simulates a non-fatal hit

heh this might not be the right answer but it's good enugh for me

cos i thought of it

If I can't see the paint, I'll probably ignore it or call for a paint check. I play tourney rules, if it breaks anywhere on you or your gear you're out.
I've had so many bounces with crappy paint (Zap Pro series) it's not even funny. I was playing in a airball practice and had a ball bounce off my visor..had there been a ref I coulda called a paint check, I couldn't feel and paint, but I called myself anyways.

Probably because if you can't see it the person will cheat and stay in anyway.

BECAUSE if bounces count the mother falkin cheaters will say I HIT YOU I HIT YOU IT JUST BOUNCED. It would give cheaters grounds to argue with the ref and everyone else basically it would make cheating easier

if that happened what would be the purpose of paint inside the paintball?

Another good point.:) Acorse the paint wouldn't fly very well then we would all switch to airsoft and cheat and the game would never end.:(

I think it is because you can't prove that you shot that person or that they were shot.

IF real life, if u had a gun and shot at someone, and u hit the ground first the bullet isn't gonna bounce, just go into the ground. So u have a paintball that have bounced, if u think of it as a real gun/bullet u wouldn't have gotten hit.

bounces dont count because their is no proof that you were hit with one, only unless a referee saw it happen

NAH, b/c there is a big agruement about, well it didn't bust or u didn't see it when i hit a guy and it didn't bust.

KoRnMaN

He wouldn't call you because why do they have paint checks then if it hit you? You would be out anyway if it didn'y break so no they wouldn't call you out.
