We would have a better chance if you gave us specifics. What kind (brand/model) of remote is it? What kind (brand/model) of marker is it?
Without this, I can't say sh|t.
I notice a lot of people ask questions like "My gun won't shoot, what's the problem?" If we don't even know what product it is or exactly what the problem is, we can't help you at all.

If a standard thread CO2 tank fits into the remote easily, then it would be safe to assume that the remote should fit into the gun. The two problems I can think of would be that the bottom line is of poor quality, and maybe the wrong size or damaged, the other is that the remote may be damaged. If the threads of the remote got hit hard, it could change the shape of it a little, and thus not fit. As far as getting it out, I would try two pairs of monkey wrenches. One on the gun, the other as close to the threads of the remote as possible (use thin towels or an old t-shirt so you don't scratch everything up). If the threads are still in decent condition after that, try screwing them into another gun or your vertical port (I don't know if the rebel can be used vertically). If it doesn't fit in easily, then it doesn't fit. Don't jam it in, it should be as easy to screw in as a CO2 tank. If that fits, call the gun company and demand a new bottom line. If it doesn't call wherever you got the remote, and demand a new remote. If the remote threads are shredded, then you will need a new remote and more than likely a new bottom line (just tell each company, they shipped their product busted, it has a better chance of "I broke it")
If your CO2 tank doesn't fit in the back of the remote, then you probably bought or got shipped the wrong item. If that's the case, call wherever you got the remote, and demand a new remote and that they pay for the damage to your gun.
Hope this helps, let us know how it goes.

Hmmm.... there are only two ways I know of to get a stuck screw out. Force and destroying the host. But then again, I have no patience. Try using the two monkey wrenches, when someone else is available to help you beat the crap out of it. Other than that, I don't know how to get it out.
