What should i do with my team?

I have a 5 man named mafia and when i try to teach them something sometimes they listen sometimes they dont.Like today a team mate asked me to explain something to him about the postions he wanted to know if we could have 1 back player and 2 middle players 2 front.I explained why i dont think we need that and at the end of a 5 minute lecture he says "What i didnt hear you". To say the least i was mad.But he is really paintball driven so is the rest of the team(im the captain) Im trying to get them ready for tournaments and stuff.So what should i try to do?Thanks

if they don't listen, set them in order with a couple shots of the dome. jus kiddin
Instead of telling them what to do, work with them to make a plan, let them all have an equal say in what goes on, and then its up to you to make the final decision

It doesn't sound to me like you're leading them so much as you are bossing them.

I may be way off base, but perhaps you should try letting their decisions come from them... As a leader, you can decide about what they decide upon and obviously offer your input, but you need to also listen to them.

I know on my team, when we play, I'll try anything once. But everyone knows if it doesn't work, it doesn't happen again.
