I was wondering about some homemade upgrades on shortening the tippmann trigger pull.
And is it true that u can take the spring out and it will lighten the trigger pull?
THANX for any info :)

you truly cant do anything major to a tippmann trigger... Ive done every mod on the planet for my trigger and it still maxes out at 8bps... All your going to end up doing is wrecking your springs and disabling your safety... Dont try to do much to your tippmann trigger pull, its almost impossible...

oh and I know someone is going to say that I must not pull the trigger fast enough... I can fire 14bps and outrun a revvy on my cocker...

cls: do what heyheyhey said. That thread is very helpful for doing mods.

Heh, I'm not going to say much except: don't bring cockers into this. I highly doubt you can pull 14bps on a cocker, but that is all I am going to say.

im mearly keeping someone from wrecking their tippmann.... Its not worth it unless you can re-engineer the trigger... and I am really tired of this "you cant shoot that fast crap" next time i go im taking a camera to the chrony and photographing it... Its not like im spectacular or anything, its mainly the gun.... You can check out his trigger mods, but do the math and they do not improve your BPS... Its kinda like those gimmick impellers for revvys... they look like they could do something in theory, but in reality they do jack...

yeah why would taking almost a pound off the trigger weight and cutting the pull down by 2/3rds actaully make it go faster?

i like aluminum personally, i took thin aluminum and shaped it around the pins, it doesn't have the sloppy feeling fo tape, and a new trigger and sear spring can help alot.

I really don't want to get into an arguement on here, but the mods I have done, as little as they are, have helped BPS. Oh well. People will always have their opinions.

guys you need to provide actual numbers... to prove something you need proof, they kinda go hand in hand... you guys are like a bunch of arguing 14 year olds... How many of you actually do your BPS over a chrony... i doubt many of you

its not about bps, if you see a guy come out of a bunker i could pop off three shoots faster with an angel, then a tippy right? Well, with a shorter trigger you can get those three balls off faster then with the sttock trigger, also with my trigger job it will not harm your gun in anyway

i have done it over a chony,

with the stock trigger i was getting around 6 a second, after lightening i could get up to 8, however i didn't try it with the aluminum mod, never got the chance. as for the other shortening mod, they made the trigger to sticky, i didn't like them.

i pull 8 on a non-custom with or without a trigger mod... Tony your "mods" may not hurt the gun, but keeping your trigger from returning fully or "shortening the slack" keeps the safety from engaging... It requires that little bit of slack, which for some people isnt a problem b/c they sand the safety... Also the shorter trigger pull can cause full auto or even worse the trigger from resetting and your trigger jams.

If you make the trigger spring weaker it takes longer for the trigger to return fully, and can cause the trigger to jam up. As well it is a safety consern as the triger can be set off unintentionally...

I played a friend of mine played from august to december with my tippy never opened it up once, and never had a problem, also i dont need a safety because i usually use a barrel bag, and when i walk with my tippy i dont even have my hand on the trigger frame.....
