i see alotta people at our field with just 'bike' brand knee pads..the ones with neoprene and stuff..either that,or some other knee pads, ocassionally some rollerblading pads, along that line..i'm in the search too, my knees are bruised from sitting, crawling, and sliding on them.

ok... i find that if i look into some nice rollerbladin/skatin/bikin knee pads that dont slip and have a lot of protection, they are super bulky... if i find some knee pads that arent bulky, they slip and have barely any protection... i hate it when i slide or crawl er even just kneeling and hurt my knee... i was lookin into renegades ones, but if u guys kno any other ones, i could use the help...

I use Redz knee/shin guards. They work great. Super strong. I can practically crash right into a solid bunker with my legs and feel nothing.
The velcro works pretty well, but I usually wrap some hockey tape around them anyway, just to make double sure they don't slip.

I went down to Oshmans and picked up some bike knee pads and elbow pads. Cost me $16 and I use my soccer shin guards. These work perfectly. I'm used to the sliding b/c I used to play keeper. The pads hold in place securely and comfortably. All in all, I didn't waste my money on the $50 or so on shin/knee guards from paintball distributors like JT.
it's too bad the e-motions are out of your range, They are great, You don't get any of the bunching up or unconfortable binding that you usually find in some of the other ones. I used to wear a pare of street hockey pads that were a field find, They were nice but they only covered my knees and not my shins. My suggestion is to maby save up the money and get the e-motions. I have never tried any of the redz pads but I have herd mixed results about them. Some people love them, others say they bunch up too much when they are on their knees or while squating.
Good luck in your search.

I just take some of that foam stuff that you use in your
gog (any hardware store should have it) and strap it around
my knee. Works really well and no one can tell it is there.
Also, you can just strap anything fluffy on there, make sure you wear it under your pants, then you get extra protection.
Last thing, If the knee pads slip duct tape works nicely!

I just use roller blade knee pads and some old tae-kwon-do shin guards (cut off the foot part). They are great. 3/4" of foam around my shins!

If you need a cheap pair you can get softball catchers(i think) pads that cover the knee and shin for like $8 each or something like that. You would nned something like tape to make sure they dont move when you slide on them.

Uhh, I wear hockey goalie pads, work great..only downside is I have to wobble. I don't have any, sucks, I need em. I like the Renegade pads, I know a few people with em and they like them alot. I think they also cost abit less than most others, don't know for sure.

no don't get e-motions, or redz, or jt... they just cost way too much, and are not really designed for a player who wears shorts, they are more designed for over the pants configuration.
what i suggest is getting ones that is made specifically for paintball... that is why i got trace knee/shin pads that are designed for paintball players that wear shorts to play... they don't slide like others do, they hug to your skin like a second layer of protection. I had the redz, and tried the e-motions and they both suck. the trace knee/shin pads don't fall off when you do a power slide into a bunker. There are trace knee/shin pads for baseball/softball players, their cheap and work pretty good. the trace knee/shin pads for paintball has two velcro straps top and bottom, one around the knee, and one near the top of your shoes. trust me, these are the best, that i have tried so far.

national paintball supply has them... i live in cali, and i just went to nationals to buy them. its about $34.99, and is really worth it, in fact my friend who is on a sponsored rookie team told me about them, and pretty much converted everyone around him including me to these new pads. Before, i had these, i had the e-motions... and a couple injuries because the e-motions slides down.
