Beginner what should my first gun brand be?

to start out get a rebel or a Piranha. they are grate markers and not very much money. they are very upgradable.

It all depends on how much you are willing to spend. If you don't want to go over $100 then get a Spyder Compact. If you want to go about $120 then get a Tippmann.

-$100 just for the gun, then buy the other essentials or rent them at a field (usually a fee)

Those are some pretty good starter pacakges, I'm sure you can find some better prices somewhere. You can always try to buy a used gun for cheaper.

Don't get a rebel. Parts break, and the customer service won't help you get things fixed. I know I have a rebel LE that I can't get fixed. Get a syper.

Yes please play first! I have a friend who thought it would be really cool to play paintball, so we went for both of our first time. I fell in love with the sport, he ended up hiding behind bunkers and not moving, vowing that he would never play again. If buy stuff and decide that you don't like playing pball, then you just wasted like $200. Try the sport before you decide it is the best thing ever.

i would go with a spyder, or pirahna. tippmann model 98's are good but might be a little out of your price range, about 160 for the whole package.

I've decided on a Spyder Compact 2 in 1. Im getting it in mint condition unused on ebay from the company for like 50.00$ How does that sound

That's a really good deal, just don't go above $80 when you'e bidding, then you can just as well get it straight from the site. The compact is a great starter gun. Make sure that you get a mask and a tank, too. You should play at least once before you buy it, just to make sure that you want to play.

i bought a gun before i ever played and i'm really hooked because of it. i learned WAY more about my gun and when i went to the field for the 1st time i felt more like i knew a bit more.. this is just my case.. i would recommend playing first tho.. because every person is different

1.) i wanna know, have your friends ever played PB?.. because if they haven't.. well, put it this way.. waste!

2.) you might get wooped by experienced players with bad guns, experienced players with good guns, bad players with good guns, or lucky bad players.. but if you are PLAYING and not relying on your gun, well, thats what counts.

3.) try paintball.. try it try it try it! one of my best friends got a Spyder Shutter w/ C02, mask, 12 v revvy, played once, got out the first time, and decided that everything was a waste, that paint ball sucks. I started at BPS (Boston Paintball Supply) with a PMI Field Marker.. it sucked, and so did the field itself, but i knew i loved paintball. I played a while longer on ****ty field markers and got a compact, then got the JT Excellerator 3.0 which i LOVED ( i recommend it). .and now, the 'cocker. I'm not confused, and I dont play like a newbie, but with only about 5 months under my belt you could still call me one. but, anyway, back to the point, try the sport first! PLEASE!

Hey.. thanks all. I like shooting things and pain hrmm can be a problem, but ive hurt myself to many times to complain about how much it hurts. The sport I can tell is addicting and I beleive that being so addicted to even just looking at the markers for one you want can seem like a "Sign". Im going sometime next week and Im using someone elses marker and mask. If its fun I will keep it up if its not, hey you never know. Confused, do you have any of your old markers in working condition? like the 2 in 1???

What about a Stingray II kit at K-mart, would that be a good starting gun? It looks quite ugly but I guess its something that shoots. I just wanna get out of the "NURFY" style, with the cheap plastic.

dont buy the stingray.. you want a gun that'll actually last you thru a game. plus with a spyder or piranha there are MANY upgrade you can do. so you'll have a 300 dollar gun in no time.

2.) nah, it ain't insane man, i was playing literally every weekend and then some, i first played like a year and a half ago, i just started playing seriously-as-hell over the past 5-6 months.. so it ain't really insane, and i aint rich man, i sold my compact for like 50 bucks, threw in 100 got the excellerator, i sold that on ebay for 150 w/ a vl 200 and a 16 oz tank, and threw in another 75, and boom used cocker for 225.. i spent maybe 250 in 6 months.. wow im rich now right? lol.

the first time i played was when me and my dad had just bought two brand new shutters. how can you NOT love playing?!?!? i geuss i could see how some people could not like it that much but some people (like me) just knew that they would like and i LOVE IT!
but if my dad, my brother and i didnt, well we just wasted over a grand on some gear we wouldnt use. but we do and it gets used so its ok! hehe

okay once again changing my mind, im gonna play next week and hopefully have fun, then im gonna do a few things to get money, buy a compact, and pump it up, sounds fun.. and to having no where to play there are places around here, if we move out into the country ill have a yard where I can play.. and ill have the fun of constructing my gun so stop *****ing at me, im just like all other newbies, except im just popular!
