Hi fellas, I just graduated from my first gun (e-Spyder) and am picking up a Nasty Impulse. While I would like to have built up the gun up myself, the Nasty just gives too much bang for the buck (for the money, there's no way I could've upgraded a stock impulse and received everything I'm getting on the Nasty.)

First off, what loader should I use? Though I did order vision, I don't think my 12V Revolution will be able to keep up with the gun. Should I go Halo-B or Evo2? I like the Evo because it isn't nearly as obtrusive as the Halo. However, if the gun can truly use the Halo to its fullest abilities, I would have to go with the Halo.

In regards to gun upgrades, the Nasty comes with a Magnetic trigger (I made sure to get the blade trigger), tape worm, delrin bolt, performance brass hammer, the freak system and vision. What else do you guys recommend. I like the Nasty because I will be able to use it straight out the box, but like all guns, I'm sure there are somethings that can be upgraded or made more efficient.

As you may have guessed, I'm still pretty new to all of this (less than a year.) I just couldn't handle my Spyder anymore. Explaining things in the most lay terms would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help. The marker is coming on Tuesday, and I'm counting down the days.

with the vision system, the 12vt is fine, but if you have money to dump on a hopper, either one will do, with the egg being cheaper

I would add upgrades only if you are running into any problems or if you just want to blow some money. In any case, here you go:

- Slick Shot ram shaft
- Rat Hole SS hammer
- LPR
- New bolt (Equilizer, Werm, etc)
- Ti bolt pin
- New feed neck (twister, no rise, tarantula, etc.)
- Valve (New designz, Evil)
- New WAS board (when it comes out)

This should get you started. Upgrades are like potatoe chips, you just can't have one.

The bolt in the Nasty is just fine-- no need to upgrade. he brass hammers is actuly a bit too heavy. I would suggest you get the ND slick shaft and a Rat hole hammer. You may find the Nasty is a bit hungry for gas at first. A new designz valve is an excellent addition and will save you a good deal of gas.

The Tape worm is good for free, but you should consider an LPR in the very near future.

As far as a hopper, well its kinda a waste to have a gun that will shoot realy fast then put an gonvenor on it to slow it down (at 12 v revy) It looks like they are finaly shipping Halos again-- I'd start saving my pennies if I were you.

The only thing I would have advised aginst is the Vision. you will be able to have have a better board for less money soon from WAS. That $150 could have been better spent on a Halo or on Rat guts and a LPR.

At anyrate you should Love the gun and welcome to the best bunch of guys on a forumn anywhere

Thanks for the insight fellas.

From what I've read so far, this is my priority list.

1. Halo-B
2. SS Ram Shaft
3. Rat Hole Hammer
4. LPR

That's about all a teacher's salary will handle for a month.
Maybe I'll eat Ramen noodles for the entire month so I can add some more stuff as well:)

Thanks for the welcome FOM. I'm sure I'll be frequenting this board in the future.

Thanks again.

Sam

plus, if you dont like the voodoo hanging out the back, you can chop it off

right after the first hump , you can take a kitchen knife or something, and 5 minutes, and have a nice hacked off bolt. i had to do this because i kept getting whacked in the mask:eek:

Hey FOM where did you find this from? When are you guys going to be getting some in?

THanks

Well I know another dealer that just got 500 of them-- we have about twice that many on backorder-- but we don't have the clout the big guys have. I'm guessing we may see them in a week or so

By the way-- the guy that just got the 500-- well he's selling them for 159 each. When we get them, they will be at the normal price- we don't adjust our prices based on lack of supply

they will be shipping more because they increased their factory output to like 3 times what it used to be, or so i heard

FOM!! ARGH!!! why are AL ur techs always gone at a tourney when i try to call for help?!!?!? ARGH!!

you guys need to hire a tech/person that can help people out and do orders that DOESN'T play on one of ur teams!

it's very frustrating to call up on a friday and to get the "all of our techs and staff are away at XXXX tourney" message or have to talk to someone that all they can say is "sorry our techs are at a tourney, call next week"

FOM thanks for the reply. I want to buy two of them, but sure as hell not going to pay 159.00 from the other guys store. That is about as criminal as these gas prices around town. If you remember, please post when you get them in.

Thanks
Slim
