My team(Team Smack):) and i are going to go to our first tourney in bout 2 weeks. It is a 3-man tourney. I am a front player with a tricked cocker, the mid player has a tippmann:(, and the back player has a shocker. Me and the back player are pretty skilled, but the mid player needs some work:) We play every other weekend, and are planning to start playing every weekend. We have good communication skills, and i can snap-shoot very good, hit my bro with a timmy in the head when me and him were snap-shooting each other during a game. What are some tips you can give me and my team for our first tourney, any help would be appreciated, thanks a lot.

have 1 back player (guy with the shocker) cover you while your mid player/tape runner shoots from the sides. stay focused on the whole game, not just one guy. the flag is the most important part, remember it. you snap shoot and do tricks with the flag while your guys cover you.

Best setup for 3 man is to ditch the mid player entirely, put him in back, then have one back guy on the left, one on the right, and a front guy playing either tape

Yes, but have the front player play more middleish if he can't run :D

3 man is hard... because if it gets to one-sided situation, the other team can just sweep your weakside. If its your first tourny, play defensively, don't be overy aggressive. hold back, until you or your team sees a weakspot, and then take it. In my day, i've seen some crazy strategy using only 3 man, if you know the fields, make sure each player is in a key position to move up or hold back. Also, practice, 2 on 1, so each player understands the movement of how the game is going to be called. Also, if one player gets out early, hold on tight until you can get one of their man's out.

No problem. You may find your way to work better, but generally I've found that 99% of the 3 man teams play that way

No. Ditch the mid player and put him in back. Then have one on the left, one on the right (that makes 2 players) and one person in front (this is the third player). The mid player becomes one of the back players
