shoot alot of paint in lanes between bunkers at the start of games. keep as many people down as possible. let your team know where everybody is.

By back player, do you mean flag defender or just rear field?

In any case...if you're toward the rear, you have a few responsibilities. First off, you're the last line of defense between the bad guys and your flag. So guard that thing!!!

Look for taperunners coming down the sides...they usually move fast, as soon as the game starts they'll sprint down the border of the field and they're usually on your side of the field within the first 3-4 minutes.

You usually don't have to watch the center too much, assuming your team has the center covered for the most part. But you DO need to watch your own guys' backs for people who may be trying to attack them from behind (usually a taperunner who didn't go all the way down the tape...they cut it short to snipe at your teammates from the upper sides of the field.)

Just something else to keep in mind. Use your better judgement...depending on the number of players, you may be needed up front every now and then if they get in a jam.

make sure u know where the flag is as well dont take it out of ur sights and have a good estimate on how many teamates r still in the game because today I playing and I didnt know that I was the last person on my team left and so I got surrounded by like 8 people

get on a team that has paint sponserships. my teams back guys shoot 2-3 cases a tourny. gives us excellent constant cover.

wish i had 2-3 cases of paint to shoot for just me. but ya, its great when everyone on the other team is down bc the back players are keeping them down. then your teams front players can easily move up and get better angles on the other team.

in the npl big tournys almost all back guys carry a case of paint on their back and mid guys bring a half case. THATS EACH GAME

the best advice i can give is to lay out paint. your job is to shoot paint and to keep you team headsup. the worst thing to do is not doing these. just make sure to do these as much as possible.

yeah, but nppl style is 5 min. games... meaning off the start and within the first minute or so... back players waste 2-3 guppies and a hopper, on lanes, and covering their front players.

try panam, i think their style or rules of regulation allows only 2 guppies, and a hopper full of paint.

Im a bakc man for my team, i use the redz 9 pack. ive ran out of paint before, it's crazy.i got raunched. I yell hella to my teamates.

Walk the field before the game. get a sense of firing lanes that way you can lay down paint and watch people without worrying about if you got a good lane. do watch the tape runners but watch the center 2. make shure you can account for all the players on your team and especially thier team. I saw this vido where a guy ran uo the center to like 2 feet behind the flag. he grabed the flag wile the other players on his team, on a coded cue, layed down the paint and kept every one down. know one new what happened to it.being a center flag game he still had to get to the other side. so like thirty seconds later he popoed up and unkered like 4 people and shot the back man in the mask from like 10 feet. sprinted to the hang point and one it.

I stress the importamce of wacthing the field. and beable to get off hella shots. practice your trigger pulls.

Talk Talk Talk. Watch what is going on, it's your job to keep your frontplayers covered and informed.

yeah, shoot alot of paint and learn a good technique for sweetspoting and use it. talk alot, keep track how many players ur team has lost and killed and whatever u do, dont take that guys advice about moving up bc if u move up u left urself open to a bunkering o a flank or more than likely caugt i real bad push!

i dunno, i play more woods, and im a back player, so i ussually keep quiet, stay low and stuff like that, a tip though, for woods, if your on your feet and someone is suddenly shooting at you and you have no cover, lay down, alot of friends have said they were amazed at how much paint they threw at me none of it hitting because i was lying on the ground and eventually got away, i wouldnt recomend this on a speedball course though, hehehehehehehehe.

I'm a back player in the woods or speedball. Tips. Get some cover. Listen to others on the field. Sometimes the best thing is to sit still. Dont shoot at anyone unless you know your marker well, meaning that if you go for long shots know your arch of the paintball. Being a back player dosent mean hose paint everywhere. Scan the field and try to pick off the player that isent paying attention. Dont be afraid to become a Instant mid player or front player when asked to. Always keep an eye open for those peskey flankers. And remember to talk it up when your playing.:D

shoot a lot of paint. as long as you're shooting at someone, you're helping out.
