how many "best gun" polls are we gonna have?
A damn fool
02-15-2001, 05:30 PM
as many lp questions, spyders verse someting, and what gun shold i buy to start off with as we already have. Half of the threads are repeats of stuff, the problme is so many threads come in, that other ones get pushed to the next page, and no one really checks that one

I would think as long as people keep voting and responding to them or H*** freezes over which ever comes first ;)

Cool, all I can say is try out the other guns out there before choosing angel, it isnt the best in all situations

what situations is the angel not good ???
it was a hard decision i love angels cockers and i really loved all the palmers guns ive tried but i decided on the angel partly cause i love the triggers and the ease of mantinence
im not saying that those other guns arent good either ive shot a few bushys which where amazing and some really nice mags but none of em wowed me like the angel
and yes i have shot intimidators but i just didnt like em they were loud and jerked around quite a bit

I loved my angel. I sold it to buy an LCD, but I ended up with a matrix due to lack of money. But, Im happy with my matrix. Lovely gun. The trigger is right up there with my angel. But, I do wish I wouldnt have sold it. Angels are neat little guns.

Situations angels arent the best? Shooting alot of paint maybe. you can have 50 billion balls per second, but if your gun chops it's no better than 4 balls per second. Or, long range shooting maybe. In my opinion the angels consistency sucks, especially considering it's price, it really should be the best. Just some situations that an angel isnt the best...

If you set your gun to around 11-13 bps you shouldnt have a chopping problem. And waht exactly do you mean long range shooting? All guns will shoot the same distance at the same velocity with the same paint, barrel, and outside factors.

mmm cocker. I can't think of one position that the cocker isn't good for..

I mean long range shooting in the literal sense of
"Shooting a paintball over long distances. The furthest a paintball will go until it's velocity drops off and the ball hits the ground" If your gun is inconsitent, you will shoot different velocities. If one shot is going 290 feet per second, and the second is going 280 then no matter how good your paint to barrel match is, those shots are going to spread out. The one going 290 will hit higher than the one going 280. Your gun therefore becomes "less accurate over long ranges". The angel using the regulator it comes with is not very consistent. Rather than go on and on about my experiences and not have you beleive me anyway, there is an online review
http://paintballstar.com/wdpangellcd.html
Read the section entitled "Spray and Pray" that describes how the angel performs as a back players gun, or look at the velocity readings from their chrono. That's what my experiences have been with the angel, and that's why I dont like it. Alot of people decide the angel is the best before trying it, and that's a shame. I've tried it and I didnt like it as much as other guns, which is why i dont own an angel.

Hey like they said, coulda been the weather or a not so good paint match. But in my opinion, there was probably something not right with the gun. This is the only review ive ever seen where the gun has preformed less than spectacularly. Read the pgi review of the dark, adrenalin, and cobra angels and see what i mean.
.
In my personal use of the angel, and that of the guys i play with, the angel has preformed perfectly. Accuracy is as good as any other gun any of us has used (shocker cockers mags defys). Same goes for consistency. At first some of us had some probs, but after being tuned by a ceritified wdp tech, the guns were perfect. And all but one of us uses the stock reg, and he uses a wgp ergo reg, with similar results.
As for chopping, its very rare. Most of us dont carry squeegies onto the feild anymore due to the fact that our angels never chop and rarely brake paint, excpet when we are shooting crappy feild paint.
You did not have good experiences while i have. I suggest giving the angel a second chance, but send it to a good angel tech to be properly adjusted, and more than likely, your attitude will change.

Nah, I prefer the gun I do have :) I'm not saying the angel is a bad gun, far from it, but it isnt my cup of tea, and just as you like it, I dont. Different people look for different things I guess. Only thing about an angel taht I'm envious of, is the low maintenance. Damn you angel owners, damn you all. Seriously though, I've got a BL Intimidator and I wouldnt trade it for any gun given the chance. Refreshing to see an angel fan that actually backs up why he likes the gun, and not because "it's just an angel". You have yours, and I'll have mine :)

i just thought of a situation where an angel or any ultra fast gun would not be good in, hopper ball.
It is sooo easy to hose with an angel or any electro gun for that matter that it would be quite easy to use up 200 balls.
In a few tourneys it wasnt uncommon for our back guys to shoot nearly a full hopper in the first minute of the games.

Your entitled to your opinion elTwitcho.
I was just saying I never had any consistancy problems with the stock reg. Granted, it wasnt the most consistant reg on the market, and I eventually replaced it, but it wasnt too bad.

It's all good watupi. As for hopperball, it depends. I play hopperball most of the time in rec, and I do have to physically remind myself to ease up a little, because you're right in how fast you can use up your paint. In speedball I can drop 50 balls off the break, and I know alot of people who drop more :)

Nothing beats a custom cocker. I dont care how damn fast your gun is, how long the barrel is, how cool the paint job is, IT'L NEVER BEAT A CUSTOME COCKER!
Stompa'16

Nick, how do you justify that statement? Do you honestly beleive that or are you just saying baseless comments like when you say angels are way overrated?
SmartBall
02-20-2001, 05:44 PM
Why must you say stupid things like that so often? First of all have you ever shot a custom cocker? if not, then you are not qualified to say that. I can, becuase i HAVE shot and Evo before (and it was sweeeeeeet!). Yes there IS a difference between a 2000 auto cocker and a Evo autococker, BUT, I do not see ANY difference between an Evo and my Shocker. No differnce at all! My shocker is just stock too! so imagine what a CUSTOM shocker can do! Oh well just my opinion, and i think that there is no true BEST gun because like it is constantly stated, "If there were a TRUE best gun, then everyone would buy it to have the best gun, right?". Just my two cents.
