I'm just wondering on your opinion on something. I play woodsball in a pretty big area in Southeastern Idaho. The games we play are pretty big and we don't really have any rules, such as distance rules (I've been in raging battles with a guy 7 feet away from me). A few weeks ago, I was caught out in the open with three guys between me and acceptable shelter. No one on my team was anywhere near, so I decided I needed to cover myself.
So I switched my Mako to full-auto and made a mad dash to the shelter, shooting aimlessly at the other team as I ran. I came nowhere near hitting any of them, but after the game, they all came up *****ing to me about how I can't use full-auto because it's unfair. I argued my position saying I was basically wasting paint, and that was the only time I used it, but they still complained. Was I wrong or were they? Any opinions would be appreciated.

If you agree with your friends that full auto isn't allowed, then I beleive you should have left it off. However, if not, then you should tell them to quit whining.

We never said anything about who could do what, they all knew I had a mako, and that it had full auto, and never said anything about not using it. This was also just two of the kids whining, the others were fine with it, and, in the end, it was more of a waste of paint than an actual help.

the way i see it
if u were any good, u wouldnt need full auto..
plus why use it if no one else has it..that is an unfair advantage

why not i would allow it and if no rules were posted or anything the whiners can go home. i think you should be allowed to use full auto anywhere even in tournaments people say its unfair but paintball isnt your gun its how you control and handle it. its like saying all the racecars have to be the exact same speed/horsepower/torque for "fairness" i dont own a full auto but i dont care if someone uses it

Ummm, why do you think they call them "stock" cars? If it was me versus pretty much anyone and I had a full auto Angel and he/she had a BE Talon, I would probably win. Controlling and handling your gun well is one thing, but holding down you trigger and charging the other players is something comletely different. I don't know what kind of gun you use, but believe me, if you had to go against a nice gun with full auto capability and you only had a semi or pump, you would probably change the way you think about this pretty quickly.

I've never used it while actually aiming towards anyone in particular, the one time I've used it in a game was to get myself out of a jam. Other than that, I can pull off 12 bps on my semi, and easily outrun the full auto I use, which is about 10 bps. I only used it because pulling 12 bps while sprinting through the woods is like freakin' impossible, so holding down my trigger, with no actual hopes of hitting anyone, seemed much easier.

Full-Auto is a great thing to have...
But I have never used it in a game.
If there are no rules then use your assets, but control them. Simple as that.

Yeah, I love turbo on my Mako, I can max the frame out when I need to, but full auto and the burst modes are basically just friend impressers for me. It's also sweet to dry fire and scare the piss out of noobs.

If it wasn't stated "no autos" before you started, than they need to quit whinning. Many people can shoot just as fast or faster than some autos. You could offer a bps limit on the auto like 9bps.

I was actually shooting 10 bps at the time, but it was a long run, I went through 70 rounds.
