I've been looking at those JT slammer packs. They look pretty cool. But, are there any sort of hidden drawbacks. They look like they would work but you never know. Is is worth it to buy?

Lose 'em! They can put undue stress on your hopper elbow, make your profile too high and if you catch a ball between the fingers and the tube it's gonna break the ball and it's a pain to clean it.

He is talking about the harness not the coller. Plus I have never broken a a ball with my JT system.
The slammer harness is by far the most comfertible harness on the market in my own opinion.

Yes it definately a good deal. Only costs $30 for a harness that I think is better than most of the 70+ packs.

Redz has a couple packs that has a Co2 holder..just look into it, you'll find Redz harnesses with Co2 pouches

Overall, it's an excellant system; harness, pods, collar. The only drawback I've noticed is in the pods. They don't seal airtight, so you can't store paintballs in them. And, if you take a hit on the top of the pod, paint will get inside it, and that's no good if it's a hit to a full pod. Also, the harness is open at both ends for easy access, but that also means there's nothing between an incoming round and the pod.
On the plus side, i've been using mine for about six months, I've only taken a couple hits on a pod. It makes reloading very fast, pull out the pod and shove it in the collar, the balls fall right into the hopper. The downside here is that you will go through a lot of paint without realizing it.

so, overall pretty good? I'm not that picky about having a harness with a co2 pouch.

well a buddy of mine has them and he likes but one drawback
i seen was if you get exited and slam the pod in to deep you can smash the balls in your hopper. I've only seen this happen once but once is enough ,it made one he## of a mess

I could see that happening if you don't have the collar on right. The pods actually have a ridge along the outside that prevent them from going too far inside the hopper. But, it could be possible for the screws that hold the collar to come loose through use allowing the collar to expand a little bit.
As Counter said, though, it's a good system.

Does the collar come with the pack or do you buy that seperately?

I was just thinking...what would happen if you dont have a collar? Wouldn't that just destroy the quick fill idea all together?

What does the collar do????

its that black thing that you hook up to your hopper and i thinks its supposed to be used with the slammer packs to allow room for the quick fill mechanism.

First, check around different stores, you can probably find the harness, pods and collar as a package deal.
Second; you can use the pods without the collar, though it's gonna take longer to load. the whole idea is with the Slammer systems is that it is a complete system. Whip a pod outta the harness, slam it into the collar and Voila, you're loaded and ready to go. It eliminates have to open a pod with one hand, open the hopper and load.
Counter has posted that he's using the pods without a collar and is able to load fairly fast. Me, I'm a clutz, I've got to have a simplified solution.

Soon paintballs will have like computer sets in them and they can hit the target every time.
