Mags are much better for an up front player because they typically are really good for snap shooting. And they have a pretty good rate of fire. Once you learn the trigger on a mag you should be able to get out about 9-10 balls per second, thats if you really know the trigger well.(Cocker triggers also have a learning curve, though.) I also believe mags are slightly lighter than cockers; never looked at the specs. I have been really happy with my mag. And yes, I am an up front player. The major plus about mags nowadays are that they are very reliable and are getting fairly inexpensive.

cockers are generally back player guns.

I know alot of people who play up front with cockers, they really arent that big or clunky or anything, though my choice is the mag. Why? Because an RT is the ideal snapshooting gun, in long streams the gun will invariably chop, but at the same time, it can rip out 4 shots extremely quickly and still allow you time to get back behind cover
