View Full Version : Regulator?

If the reg. dosn't have a gauge, how can you tell what it is at? And is the PMI pure energy reg. a good one?

I am just starting to upgrade my gun so I don't know much about this stuff.

Oh and I don't plan on ever switching over to Nitro (just because I don't plan to ever be that serious in paintball, I play all summer and some during the school year) so does that make much difference in what reg to get?

Thanks for all the help.

Please post all known info on regs that would help me.

thanks again
BEn

get a Macdev Gladiator w/ co2 seal for 75 bucks. Dont get a pure energy, they kinda suck imo. Or ask someone that owns a cocker and see if they would sell you there wgp reg for 30 bucks. If you want to know the pressure coming out of the reg you need to buy a lapco dual adapter and a guage to read the psi. (i recommend the macdev mini guage 0-600 psi) And drill your vertical adapter so you can get better air flow.

pure energy doesn't have a guage port. if your using co2 get a wgp reg. i dont think they cost much and they work good on co2

If you want a to see what the psi is running into your gun you'll need a lapco dual adapter and a guage. You can get the dual adapter at g3pb.com

I suggest the palmer male stabilizer.......works great on CO2.....it is a little pricy but it is worth every penny....it will last you a life time because it was ment for CO2 use so the Liquid CO2 won't damage the regs seals....I haven't tried the Mac dev w/ co2 seal but if it is cheaper, then go ahead and get it......but I think the palmer would be a better reg to get, if you plan on stickyin with CO2......my opinion.....

Can someone who has a regulator but not a gauge explain how you can tell what PSI you are running at? Is it ok to use a reg, without a gauge?

Thanks,

You cant tell what psi your running at without a guage and yes its ok to use a regulator without a guage. IMO you dont really need one, but its interesting to see what pressure your running at :)

Oh and when you turn your pressure down to much the gun wont cock. Make sure that you have some low pressure mods like: Drilling your VA, Sanding the valve pin, etc.

Of if you can get a turbo valve for about 20 bucks. And possibly a new bolt, but if you take the venturi out of your stock bolt you'll be just fine. Dont forget Drill the VA. Your welcome :D

Well if you dont wanna Drill..if you have the money, buy a aka spyder mighty max, its already drilled for you and the highest flowin VA out there. Well the least you can do is take out those brass filters under your vertical adapter (those gold thingys) Just get a hammer and a screw driver and hammer away. It should come right out and when your done make sure you have all those brass things cleaned out of your va cause they could damage your cup seal and maybe brake paint.

I don't remember seeing any gold and silver things under my VA but I'll check again..

I have a spyder, will they still be there?

Saiyan_warrior
07-26-2001, 04:50 PM
Well you do have a Vertcal adapter right? It should be there..

I'm pretty sure, my bottom line is connected to my VA, along with my chamber (forget the full name) and that attaches to the rest of my gun.

I have spyder compact.

do you mean the things the pin I sanded goes into?

Saiyan_warrior

You know where the opposite end of the low pressure chamber is? When you pull it out a Spring a Cup seal, that four star thingy..and a pin two sides of it is flat. Sand down both of them about a millimeter or two.

Thanks for postin that pic. You dont have to get a drill if you think you might mess it up. Just get a Screw driver and a Hammer and just hammer away.

I don't thnk I have those...

me got spyder

you two have piranha's

could there be a little difference? like I don't have them??? or am I just blind??

Saiyan_warrior
07-29-2001, 11:37 AM
Well if you dont have them thats good. Now you have to drill the whole from your VA. Its in the opposite end of the low pressure chamber. Hsuve has a list on how to do it for spyders.
