i have been saving my money lately to upgrade to an impy or something similar to that. i have around $400 and i went to my local shop and they didnt have any for that price in stock. however, they did have a used defiant for $350. i asked them if it had any problems and he said ppl usually have to buy a new regulator cause the stock ones on defiants have problems. i dont have n2 and i dont think it will work very well on co2 even with anti-siphon. so what do you think i should i do...wait for a used impy to come along and get anti-siphon or go with the defiant and probably have to buy a new reg and n2. keep in mind i only have about 400-450 dollars. Also i could buy a stock impy with a vert reg for 400. what do you guys think?

You can get the Defiant if you like, but you might want to check out the BKO's. You will still need N2 but they are a monster of a machine for roughly $280. That still leaves you $120 to pick up an airsystem.
The BKO is a true electronic marker, not a sear tripper. The 2K3 version of the BKO can fire up to 22bps. It has new and improved high pressure reg that doesnt need to be replaced right out of the box. Comes in a multitude of colors. Has a 6 way adjustable trigger. It is also becoming one of the more upgradable markers on the market. You can change everything about it except the ASA Block. I would expect this to change in the very near future as well.
This would be the route I would go if I had the amount of money you have.

Impys and bushmasters have lots in common. You would have similar performance either way. I think the bushy is a better product myself.

are bko's really reliable. i need a gun that has great reliability cause i'm upgrading from a black dragun and that thing screwed up within 3 games and wouldnt work the rest of the day. also, would i need to get a new barrel immediately or are the stock barrels pretty good?

old HPR reg can be cured by buying a stiffer spring. My Defiant is an old one, and my local proshop happens to carry one of those springs for only like $15.00, so all i changed is that one silly spring and it's been treating me good.
Another thing u can do is buy an HPA tank w/ 400 psi output pressure.
