Don't be cheap on your safety! I'd say either a JT Spectra, JT Nvader or V-force Shield.

yea, i agree on the safety.. like the proteus, its a good mask, but its not high-protection, and way expensive..

Flex-7, diablo skull, something with a flex mask and thermals. You probably won't be upgrading goggles for a year or more at least, so just get a good pair to last you.

dont go cheap on safety, but go cheap on price. i got my jt elite xfire thermal. olive top with black bottom and i totally love it. never fogs, and is really really comfortable. a lot of breathing room, good neck protection, and forehead and side protection. it covers my whole forehead and almost my whole head, and cover all of my neck, and all da side of my head, da only places exposed is top and back. its a real nice mask, good investment, real cheap.

nVader is trash i have one. It's hard to breath fogs at points. And i got gogged once and after i cleaned it there is a nice pink film on it. I don't know any other mask for you to get but don't get the nVader. :D

JT X-Fire

30 Bucks..great mask. Mini Flex7.

I almost got one instead of the flex cause they are just the pimpest looking masks..but I got a good deal on a flex so i got it. But the X-Fires are great.

Probably pick one up on eBay for 20-30 bucks. Good Luck. :)

I blew $70 on a JT Flex 7 IZE when I started out. Then I jumped to a cocker. Sold it, waiting for an impulse. I think newbies should read about the good stuff, decide if they want it, and get it, instead of buying a blowback, then a another gun, then go tourney. Just a waste of valuble dough.

Get a JT Spectra or Spectra flex 7, they offer good protection, look very cool, and should be pretty cheap now. Did I mention how d@mn comfy they are?

What does your marker experience have to do w/ what masks newbies should get? You said you had a flex, but you kinda left us hangin.....

Almost seemed like you were referring to your Flex as a marker instead of a mask :D
