okey i have a basically stock BKO. I have a 68 4500 PMI pure energy nitro tank 800 output and my BKO just sucks the compressed air from it. It seems like my Spyder shutter has better efficiancy than my BKO. I run my BKO at 200 psi and am only getting about 800-900 shots off a full 4500 fill. Help please

Read the info in the manual about ajusting the regs. A kid at my field said his Bushy was a gas hog and sure enough, thats what the problem was.

hey, my freind has an impulse and he only gets around 450 shots from his 68/3000 so yours is probly to be expected.

since the impulse is operates at 150 psi, it uses alot of gas.

yours actually isn't that bad

ROFL I get 550 shots per 1000 psi in my 68cu in. RTFM you should get 400 shots per 1000psi in a 68cu in stock

I know that I have a Defiant, not a BKO but they are mostly the same,so figure i might help a bit.

First off, I had the same problem. Took it to my airsmith to put a Stainless braided hose, take it home, fired it, and next thing u know u're running out of air. I have a 68/4500 tank and it only lasted me about 900 shots, maybe less. But now it's a lot more efficient (getting AT LEAST 1500 shots)

1. Check what geneartion ur BKO is. Older one has bad HPR and it wouldn't operate normally w/ tanks w/ 800 psi output, which is the same as my Defiant. But i solved this by buying a stiffer HPR spring - u need to break in the spring tho.

2. Ur HPR and LPR setting might not be set at the optimum level or u haven't "sweetspotted " the reg. My Defiant doesn't have any leaks even if u turn the LPR all the way so I adjusted it by turning it up slowly until the it has enough air to push the bolt all the way to the cocked position and fired a couple of time to make sure the gun cycles properly. then u play w/ the HPR. Normally the LPR by now is still too low - no matter how much u turn ur HPR u couldn't get the desired velovity or u will get there but w/ bad efficiency.
If this happens, turn the HPR down and slowly turn the LPR up (make sure u're doing this over the chrono). The HPR should sit somewhere ( around 220 to 250 psi) and u can now slowly turning the LPR up.
I figured this out the hard way cuz as i said before my LPR doesn't leak, so I couldn't tell what psi am i operating at.

Note : This may be a bit difficult w/ BKO cuz the bolt is always in a cocked position, and i don't have any experience w/ a BKO yet.
Anyways hope this helps !!
