does your brother have a gun..?
do you play speedball or out in the woods..?

try looking into some other options like spyders...rebels...pirahnas(sp?)...

don't get pirahnas, they are spyders but horribly over-priced.

c98's are an awesome choice for a rec.(woods) gun. They are in my opinion the toughest gun period, one of the most ungradable guns and they shoot great, with an aftermarket barrel of course. But for speedball type play they are a little bulky and something like a spyder would propably be better, just my 2 cents:peace:

Personally I say m98c or if you want something a bit more flashy looking get a pirhana. Same basic design as a spyder but better quick strip pin and standardized(sp?) parts.

I.E. doesnt have 5 standard allen screws and one metric.

Pirhanas are not that much more than spyders and I think they are well worth the money. Plus the sypders that come with "regs" well their regs are junk and really dont do anything at least with a PMI reg it actually helps.

If you dont mind the look of the m98c its a great marker super durable and reliable.

-Tippy 98c
-Spyder Aggressor
-Spyder Victor
-Spyder Xtra
-Tippy A-5 (if u want a nice/beginner gun.. a little pricey)

But yes, get a 98c if thats what you like. They perform well in woods, and in recball. Nice choice.

I own a spyder shutter and i love it, they dont make them anymore(i think). My brother has a Tip 98 and its a good gun. The tippman feels like a tank and doesnt break easy. So if you don't know much about paintball guns get a Tippman.

Yea, Tippmanns are great starter guns for pretty much every reason stated above you really cant go wrong with them .:blah:

Don't get a Tippmann. Your brother is right. I'd go pump before I'd go "field strip in 5 bolts."

tippmann's rule for beginners and advanced players - there nearly indestructible and built to last. you can upgrade them ridiculous amounts (good thing) and they're super reliable. if you can get the a5 - you won't need a new gun for a LONG time.

You may not need one, but you'll wish you had one.

get what YOU want not what your brother wants
I have a 98 custom and i love it, it has never let me down out of lots of paintballs the spiders will let you down in the cold. The spiders are easier to field strip, but with the tippmann you will hardly ever have to feild strip it. I have nothing against spiders, they are good guns for a beginner.
Just my opinion
