Definitely the freak set. It is the best barrel on the market right now.

some people on ebay are selling entire freak sets for $170. One for an impulse finished about a day ago. I don't think anyone bid on it.

if you play at different fpo feilds, or fpo tourneys then the freak, but if you use your own paint, then boomer, or jt, or j&j. they all shoot the same, but the j&j and jt are a bit cheaper, and the jt looks the best (i think)

What does where he is playing have to do with what barrel he should get? The freak set is a better barrel. If he has the money, he should get it.

Also if you own more then one marker the freak is better cuse all you have to do is buy a back which is like 50 bucks. so its cheaper than buying 2 boomys.

Man, didn't you even read the post? If he plays FPO at different fields, then bore sizes will vary. If he uses one paint all the time, then why the heck waste money on a freak?

Because he's not wasting money. No one uses the same paint all the time. He might use one paint most of the time, but even then it still varies in size. Plus, he can take the Freak with him to another marker. It is a much better barrel for the money.

imagine this... the total freak kit cost about what you have spent on your total package for your extra (including gun).

If money isn't an issue, get the freak. If you want to save $90 go with the boomie.

Is the total freak like the best that you can buy?? Is it worth saving up 200 for??

Some people do, man. And, if he is using the same paint with him, it is of a better value to spend $100 for the same performance that you would get from $200. And, he can sell the boomer with his current marker if he ever decides to change, and but a new barrel. Why are you trying to argue that its better to spend more for the same performance?
Super Nick

I'm not trying to argue. If he shoots one paint most of the time, then he can get a cheaper barrel (maybe a Lapco Bigshot) that will perform just as well as the Boomstick, and it will cost less. Plus, every batch of balls is not the exact same size. The Freak barrel can match those little changes in size, so it does have better performance. I've never heard of anyone who never uses any different paint.

Ok I have a question about the freak.. since everyone is talking about it. If I bought a complete freak set for an angel... but I wanted to use it on a cocker... could I just buy a back for the cocker and the rest of the kit would fit that back?

BOOMSTICK, in the largest bore size they make, then send it to whitewolf and he will make 3 inserts for it for $25!!! Quality and looks of the boomstick with the flat out match of the freak! best by far
Super Nick
08-01-2001, 11:20 AM
The Boomstick isn't any better quality than the Freak, and if you buy a barrel just because of looks, you must have a lot of money to waste.

Yeah but 3 inserts cant compare to 8. Big difference between .691 and .687.

FREAK!
I was playing pball at the local field lastnight.
(NIGHT SPEEDBALL) and some guy had the sto cocker with freak system, and man saw it accurate.
The unfair part was the reff's played..good thing he was on my team and the guy with the cocker was 2.
the reff had an angel. it shot pretty good.
And when I vs the guy with the cocker I shot him in the pack and I called a paintcheck on him and the reffs did nothing then later we were talking and I saw his pack and it did have my paint on him where I hit him and he diddent get called out. :(

yessuree..that why the freak rocks for an owner who has multiple guns..he can just buy different backs and use the rest of the kit on all his guns.
just think..the freak IS worth it depending on what guns you have and paint and such.
lets say you have a spyder, mag, and bushmaster. you have a back for each..lets say you want a 12" and 10" barrel, so you have 2 fronts..then u have all 8 inserts because the paint varries from field to field where you live. if you think about it, that is 48 differnt barrels right there
