hey im wondering what would be a good nitro tank for a BKO that doesnt cost tons of money, but is also good. i really know nothing about nitro at all except that its highly compressed air, for example i dont know about 6800 psi and what not.

A compressed air system is based on the size of the tank and the pressure it can hold at that given volume.

For example a 68/45

The first number is the amount of cubic inches inside of the bottle. The second number is the maximum amount of pressure the bottle can hold.

So a 68/45 would mean 68 cubic inches with a maximum pressure of 4500 PSI.

A good tank for some small bucks is the ACI BullDogII. You can pick up a 68/45 for about $175.

if your going to spend 175 on a bulldog 2 i would just go with the centerflag... aci has had problems in the past.... i own a centerflag and i have had absolutely no problems with it... but then again my friend has a bulldog 2 68/3000 and has had no problems with it... but just to be safe i would get the centerflag

Go Crossfire or Nitro Duck.

why a nitro duck when crossfire and centerflag are just as good?

Nitro Ducks have some of the best tanks out there. The newer ones come with tough skins that adds more protection to make sure that they will hydro out later in their lifes. Combine that with the new X-Stream adjustable regulator you got yourself a killer tank. Thats the tank I am getting for my Bushmaster. I have a 1998 nitro duck and never have had a problem with it.

I use a Pure Energy Steel 68/3000 and have had nothing but good results with it. It only cost me $125 too.

Its 5 ounces heavier than a fiber wrapped 68/3000 but i dont notice any real weight difference.

If you looking for a good tank i suggest looking into a Pure Energy tank.

I am too--no problems with the tank!

It's a little known secret that all paintball N2 tanks, regardless of the brand, are all made by the same companies. For example, I believe all steel tanks are actually made by Catalina, a scuba equipment company. There is another company (maybe even two) that actually make the fiber-wrapped tanks (I don't know the name, but I do know that it supply oxygen tanks for fire-fighters). So as far as quality, get the cheapest one. The only real differences come in with the expensive on-gun systems. That's my two cents.

Uhhh, I don't know about your bottle theory, you are likely correct, but thats not important. Each company makes there regs differently. They vary in flow, consistancy, length, and some other things. That is how preset bottles differ (except for nitroduck TuffSkin), not what the bottle is made of. If you've ever seen a system x on the same marker as a crossfire or centerflag, you'll understand.

I got to thinking about that last night and came to the same conclusion--the regs are different.
