OK. This is probably a pretty stupid question, and you guys will probably laugh at me, but what is the difference between nitrogen and compressed air? Are they the same or different? And if compressed air is different, where can i get it filled. One more thing. The advantage of one over the other???

they are both almost inperceptible one versus the other sompressed air and nitrogen do not posess any different qualities they are both inert gasses and neither one has a better expansion or compression rate, both are very stable and can be filled at your local field or PB store and if you don't have a pb store near to you many welding supply stores such as the US chain ROBERTS OXYGEN can fill your nitrogen tank for you or if you have a compressor at home you can get a BOOSTER made by (somebody help me here is it AGD?) anyhow someone puts out a booster which will enable you to fill you own HPA tank with compressed air upping the value of an hpa tank...

actually the answer to this question is pretty easy, ones air and ones nitrogen.

athey are interchangable....but then 80% of air is nitrogen...so it's essentially the same thing

Ive heard compressed air is better, butim about as clueless as u. Thisis going to be then ext upgrad eon my gun, and i was wondering if there isa differentin tanks i would need to have nitrogen or compressed air, and if they work with lp. Also, doesnne one ave ne recomendations for a tnak i should get?

Yes they work LP, Nitro and CA tanks are one and the same, and they have the same performance. If you are going to run it through any type of reg before it reaches your valve I'd recommend the PMI pure Energy, lightning fast recharge, but kinda inconsistent (hence the reg).

the absolute best inline regulator for compressed air/nitrogen is the Air America Vigilante, hands down. It's the best out ther and only costs around 55. Can't use it for Co2 though..it'll freeze the O rings and mess up the reg...

Na the vigi is not "THE BEST" reg at all. There are many better alternitives in my own opinion. I.E. MavDev, WDP, ect.

Nah, gets to a point where it doesnt matter. I'd say the vigi is the best just because though mac dev is slightly better, there really isnt enough difference to justify the cost. If I had garbage bags full of money lying around, I'd probably get a better reg, but you really dont need it

I think the extra $10 would be worth it. Especially since I hate the way vigi's look.

i always thought compressed air was horrible or i would have been using my air compressor...

10? Damn man, guess my shop was screwed or we're thinking of a different reg, because the macDev they had their was the same price as a Gen-x (which is damn overpriced). If it's 10 bucks, I'd say it's worth it, but still wouldnt make a whole heap of difference. My only beefs with the vigi are that yes indeed, it is butt ugly (unless you can score an all black one), any guage you put on it will show input pressure, not output, which is useless, and adjusting the pressure on the reg is impossible if it's gassed up. For 10 bucks, i'd say the macDev is a good buy, but if it isnt in your store on that day but the vigilante is, just pick up the vigi, wont make that much difference

No comressed air is good.
But you cannot use a regular aircompressor. Shop air compressors only go to about 180PSI I beleive. Compressed air tanks for paintball need to be filled to 3000-4500 psi.

There are portable air compressors that can fill at 3500psi,but you can look at spending about $1,500 bucks for one.

compressed air=good :D
Co2= bad :(
Vigilante = good :)
Mac Dev reg= good :D
hehe just made it easy for everyone out there

no, co2 works fine. Nitro and compressed air jsut work better, thats all.

say that in 20 degree weather with no anti siphon tube, remote, or x chamber :D:D

ture, but i have a reg ansd anti siphon, and tank cover, so its all good

lol me too :D although when i'm pounding on the trigger in cold weather, i do burp sometimes...it gets annoying..but i'm not going nitro till i get my cocker.

Well, shocker does work as good on CO2 as it would on nitro, because it only runs at 180 psi, at which pressure liquid CO2 doesnt exist, and the filter on the reg keeps dirt out, so in some instances, CO2 can be good. Even in extreme cold a shocker would sorta suck CO2 though. Then again, if it's cold I dont take my gun out, not exposing my baby to snow, that's when it becomes Spyder time :)

Did you find out who makes The booster?

How much does it cost for an AntiSiphon Tank, and is it really worth it or should I get an X-Chamber?

This depends on your setup, if you have a vertical setup an Antisyphon tank is usless. An antisyphon tank is a regular Co2 tank with a bent copper tube in it so when screwed into the ASA the tube points upward away from the "bottom". Liquid Co2 collects at the bottom of the tank and this tube is setup in such a way as to not let too much liquid in to the gun. ALL GUNS HATE LIQUID. An expansion chamber will accept liquid and turns it to gas (thus allowing it to expand), if you have a bottom line setup get both. If you have a vertical setup, or a remote DO NOT GET AN ANTISYPHON TANK all you will do is suck liquid into your gun, just go with an expansion chamber.
