I am trading my friend a stock spyder compact for his 3.5. He sayd the thing eats paint. Tell me the best kind of paint to use for a 3.5

Thanks

Wrong forum!

Anyways, JT is releasing an anti-chop bolt to all 3.5 owners, they are shipping as we speak. But anyways, mine has never "eaten" paint, it'll chop about 1 out of 25 balls, and that's with not-so-good paint. Marballizer and Proball and Inferno work like a dream.

Are you using the stock barrel

Make sure you have the right paint to bore match

Check here (http://www.ottersccustoms.com/paintc.html)

The only paint around here where i live is Super Swirl(which i use always), carnivores(my friend has a 5.0 and that is what he sayd works good in his JT), and 32 degrees paintballs, like team colors and competition, and some brand called DRAXXUS. How about those?

I use draxxus, never chopped one with my 4.0 and i have shot prolly 1500 draxxus through it. don't get pink fill though, those did break in barrel. go for green or yellow fill

Actually, more like they're releasing it in 3 months. I've talked to a BE/JT rep in the BEOG (Brass Eagle Owners Group) and this is the official word. Some BEOGers are currently testing the Excellerator 5.0, and have this new bolt in there, and by all reports, it's excellent.

Also, I must note that it's not that the bolt chops, it's that the 3.5 has blowback problems. Right now, getting an electronic hopper will fix the chopping problem.

Oh, and about paint to use, first, don't use any paint from walmart. The reason for this is simple. Walmart paint is OLD. Get your paint from a pro shop, where it is fresh. Also, make sure that the paint you're using doesn't get stuck in the barrel so tightly that you can't blow it out, but also that it isn't so small that it just rolls out. The right paint to use is good quality paint that when it's dropped into the barrel, that it gets stuck, but blowing into the barrel (cover up the porting w/ your hands) will push the ball out. This is a proper paint to barrel match and will ensure that your paint will shoot at maximum accuracy for that paint. This won't prevent barrel breaks, but it will get the best performance.

For the stock JT 3.5 barrel, I recommend Diablo Midnight, though. It's great quality paint and fits the JT 3.5 stock barrel very nicely, and the JT spits darts with it (when properly chronoed. it'll deform the ball and be less accurate if you shoot above 300).
