Was it is so important about polishing stuff?

What affects do polishing internals/barrel have on a guns preformance, I saw the thing on how to do it one the M98 Center. Just wondering cause i might want to do it, i need an edge over my Spyder and Pirranha equiped friends.

it will make the internals cycle more smoothly

tippmann puts a buncha junk in the sides of the internals (that black powedercoat) if you just polish that off and polish all parts that move, the gun iwll cycle better and you will use less gass. also to beat those spyders getta nice barrel and practice alot
