HA thought this would be a longer = better huh ....

my question is: my stock barrel is 11 1/4 inches, the only barrels i've found aftermarket are either a 12 " J&J ceramic and a 16" armason stealth. what i would like to know is this, would the 12 inch make any difference other than sound, and is the hype about the stealth true do rifled barrels make any difference at all.

currently my gun sounds like a .410 shotty ... while its great for scaring the noobs off the feild its rather difficult since i do more sniping and sneekin than anything else .
i've never really paid much attention to barrels till i saw all the different types the maverick people have, now i want somthing other than stock :)

thanks

thanks aftermarket barrels will give you better accuracy. lots of stock barrels don't have much porting either so they are pretty loud compared to aftermarket barrels. i wouldn't get the armson stealth though. it's not the best bang for your buck barrel. I suggest either the 12in J$J ceramic or 12in custom products 1 piece(it's $40). those 2 are both good barrels.

custom products makes a maverick barrel ?

other than sound would there be a large difference in the 3/4th an inch extra the 12" barrel would give me ? i'm working on a silencer to kill most of the sound and its fairly accurate now. i'm just wondering mainly about how much more accurate it would be with an aftermarket barrel

thanks again

thanks again ah sorry I didn't read the part about you using a maverick. it's not the 3/4th in that will give you more accuracy.. Most stock barrels aren't consistant in their bore and they are that smooth. That's what aftermarket barrels have over stock barrels. Since you said it's already fairly accurate then you probably won't notice to much of a difference.
