hey i just got a new dragun compact and the va leaks when i put the tank in. i've heard many ways to fix it like sanding down the button in the va so it isn't as long, teflon tape on the tank threads, and lots of other stuff, but what works the longest or best? i just want to know before i mess up my gun or something. please help

well your best option is to get a reg or gasthrough, drop and bottomline thats a permanent fix..........2nd and also permanent (only do this if you think you can do it with out mistakes) is to grind the pin in the va till you can tank the gun..3rd teflon the hell out of your tank and just leave it on the gun as long as you are going to be playing

did you mean if i sanded down the pin i would still have to use teflon? or did you mean that the pin is the cheapest permanent fix? i hadn't planned on buying a reg and grip and that stuff i like the va and i always have. thanks though

so, is the sanding down of the pin the best way to fix it?

its the best permanent way. i got the proshop to do it for me. if you do this you wont need the tape. another option is simply dropping a tank o-ring into the va and then screwing in the tank. that works great just it might fall out. last option is get a tank with an on/off switch. i sugggest the 2 ways which wont cost u any money but the other would be best

so you mean put an o-ring in the va and then just screw the tank in? will one of the o-rings i got with the gun work? the gun came with three extra o-rings. two black ones and a red one. will one of those work?

how would the on-off switch help? it would still leak right?

not exactly sure wich one is the tank o-ring in the pack. i thinks its the one without the white dot. anyways if theres a paintball store near you they'll sell em for about 30c each. just use the one which fits the most snug

an on/off on your tank wouldnt leak since it alows you to screw the tank all the way in befor you turn the air on, another good fix that i hadnt though of LOL

thanks, i'll try the o-ring thing and if all else fails i can buy an on/off switch/valve for a tank can't i?

so pretty much the o-ring acts as a spacer so that when you screw it in it doesn't screw were it won't seal. or what does the oring do?

ya for the tank not the va cause thats where the problem is. not that much for one but the extra o-ring would work

so the oring just pretty much stops air from traveling out of the va. i just thought of that. without the oring it won't seal cause the air escapes through the tanks threads. thanks guys

pbreview is great don't you think? if i tried to use another forum like pbnation or something like that i wouldn't fix it in time. i'm glad i found this site cause without it i would have to wait for m3 to tell me they can't fix it and send it back and i have a paintball game this sunday. thanks again everybody! my friends my compact is awesome! it's a good thing you guys helped me fix this cause if they knew it had any problems then they might not think as much of it. they all have standard semis and one has a pump so this is pretty new to them.

on a proper gun the pin should be smaller so when it hits the pin on the tank the air would go into the gun. but on the bd pin(for some reason. a mannufactuer defect i think) the pin hits the tank pin too early and air spews

chadolf

but the o-ring stops the air from spewing out till you screw the tank in all the way then it stops right?

that's right. on other forums you have to wait a while for someone who cares to actually look at your post
