I was reading paintball.com's article "10 man pro flys the way of the dodo" and they are talking about the death of 10 man pro, and also things like division 1 and 2 xball. Can someone explain the differences of 10 man pro, division 1 xball, and division 2 xball to me? Im pretty confused.

ok first 10 man pro means at the start of the game there are 20 people+ refs on the feild

10 on each side

usual points brake down goes like this

2 points for every live player left, 3 points for every player eliminated

20 points for a pull 30 for a hang.

like 10 min. games

nxl, what the pros moved to is, 10 people on the feild + refs and 2 coaches 1 for each team, 1 point for a hang, thats it,

60 mineut games, devided into 4 quarters and a 5 min brake after every flag hang.

teams get 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie and 0 for a loss.
points ar tallied up, at the end of the season, team with most points wins.

division 1 and 2 are similer, 1 is amature basicly and 2 is any one can play.

make sense

That, and most other tournament formats are turning away from the 10 man to the 7-man format.

my guess as to why they killed it was cause theres for one not enough compitition and for 2 it jus was too hectic....cause literally ther was prolly 2k balls flyin thru air off the break in most games wit 10 man

20 peeps is alot...

100 vs 100, nice.

Oh, and what does the "unlimited" mean in 7 man unlimited?

they should have a 15 vs 15 on a longer field.

The most fun i have ever had was a 20 vs 20 in a rec field and it pretty much was speedball except different terrain

unlimited 7 man is unlimited paint usage the pan am tourneys used to have limited paint i think it was like 500 per person but now pan am has limited except for 7 man teams.
the true nppl uses 7man format trying to replicate the european millenium series while PSP is doing i believe 3 5 7 10 but there getting rid of 10 the psp also has two Xball leagues. In my opinion Xball and psp altogether is totally dumb the only reason psp is getting any action is becuase of X ball and in my opinion xball is dumb i like 7man regular tourneys better PPL only like Xball becuase they think it will make paintball more mainstream let me summarize

PSP=bad
NPPL Super 7= good
Pan AM=meh

what are u people smoking
their is no 3 man in the nppl or psp
here the REAL break down

nppl= 7 man rookie,nov,am,pro
psp=5 man rookie,nov,am & 10 man rookie,nov,am and div 1,2 and the NXL

NPPL=The best thing to ever happen for paintball
PSP=A waste of time and money

NPPL is pushing the 7-Man Super Series. That's where most of JT's sponsorship money is going, which is probably why Dynasty, Lockout, and Avalanche aren't playing X-Ball. That and the fact that there are no tree lines to cheat from in X Ball.

10-man is dying for a couple reasons. First, it's boring. The industry is trying to push paintball as a spectator, extreme sport. Watching one elimination every once in a while is nothing to seeing a team lose 2 on the break and fight back against a paintstorm.

X-Ball is the epitomy of TV-friendly (or, rather, its intended to be.) X-Ball is supposed to be even easier to follow than 7-man.

i went to psp LA and you know what not a single spectator was there the only ppl i saw were players playing the tourney i actually saw the facefull vendor walking around away from her table. I would put money on super 7 being the staying power i think chuck and his crew are doing a great job
