I am not a newb to paintball, but i dont play tournaments either. my frined has a shocker 4 by 4 and is thinking of making a team, im saving money now too. my mind keeps changing as first i was gonna get a shutter, then a tl plus, and now im thinking bout an autocker 2001 (WGP). this runs about 350 and yes i know it is better than a tl plus, but i planned on trickin the TL PLus with boomstick, PMI pure energy Reg, revvy, Low Pressue, and nitro later. I hear autocockers are good, but this is a low level one, and this is probably the HIGHEST "LEVEL" of guns i will ever go. no proffesional paintball for me, just backyard stuff, and normal course play, and maybe the occasional tournament. Also, im not techniacally inclined, and i dont like taking apart 394817293847312947 parts from my gun and putting them back in. All input would be appreciated

Well if you buy a cocker it takes a certain dedication like all guns.
You have to spend the time to learn where and what every part does. You also have to learn to time your cocker (which is quite easy)
like I always say if you treat your cocker right it will treat you even better.

does that mean that refer the cocker to me over the tricked out spyder? it will take quite a while for me to save up money to upgrade the cocker..... just sayin

Cocker is better than any of the standard open-bolt blowbacks out there. It's super consistent, and one of the most gas efficient guns around. Definately go with the cocker. The 2000 models are good enough that you have an excelent gun right out of the box, with plenty of upgrade options (if you ever feel the need)

Exactlly, maybe a barrel and a rev would be all you need to do the the 2K if you are just going to play rec ball. But if you ever want to upgrade to tournament play you will be ready. My son use a stock 2K except for a 12 inch AA barrel and 12 volt rev. He loves it. Until now all we have done is played rec/outlaw. But desided to jion a league this summer. So he may do some upgrades now.

I agree a cocker is the best way to go here ZOMBIE on this board did alot of homework whihc turned into trial and error and found as well as I cockers are definately the way to go over a tlplus or even a piranha pro .... I owned a piranha and he has owned a piranha pro and a tlplus and a spyder classic and it has been said on more than one occassion it is hard to believe that a cocker could be so consistent that unless you have paint breakage you can expect the ball to fly in a straight path and have very little side curviture which is a real bummer on low end guns even with correct paint matches I know it's hard to believe with me sitting here telling you this like some expert cause I'm not but I will only say that I only post my personal experience and not hear say or what my friend told me only what I witness and find to be true for myself.
you won't be dissapointed
