I just got a virus in my computer, its called Wormm32@mm or some like that,

I figured how does this virus work,

1. THe a.s.s.h.o.l.e.s who made this virus programed as a window file, so you wont be able to delete it,

2. THis virus comes in a weird email, Example, a guy that you dont know emails u two files, the first ones says something like this: "I made this sweet text, and i need your advice," and the second is a text file that is infected

3. The virus goes in your "C:/Window/SYSTEM" and you cant see it, only your virus scan will be able to see it

4. The virus infect other important files in your computer
(like an email file ---> as soon as the virus takes over the email file, it emails from your computer tons of infected emails to other people)

5. When you scan your computer for the virus, your virus scan will identifie files that are infected, so when you delete it, your computer is screw up because youve just deleted important system files that were infected,...

THE THING IM TRYING TO SAY IS WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD STUFF FROM THE NeT, SCAN IT FOR VIRUS'!!

(if u were infected by that virus, go to the norton anti virus web and check for help, I got 9 pages on information about that virus)

Um whatever. Anyhow, thanks for the heads up, I've heard a few things about this virus going through alot of the major ISPs, but that was about it.

You can see the virus fine if you go to Tools > Folder Options, then check "Show all files".

And even if the infected file did get copied over as one of the windows system files. No problems.. Usually no matter how destructive the virii writers usually made it so that it copied and renamed the file somewhere else.. So you can boot down to ms-dos mode, delete the infected file(s) restore the real ones from the renamed files or off of the CD, then reboot into windows and the problem is solved.

Some you may also have to edit and kill reg keys they set to re-infect themselves off the internet and what not.. But its pretty easy to get around them now if you've gotten that far.

Hey man! I got that e-mail! I feel bad for the poor loosers who made it and sent it to me! Because it only works on Windows OS, and I'm a big Macintosh user! ahahaha sux to be them! Oh for a heads up, it's from a guy called "Cyle", so beware and he must be using this forum to spread it! So once again if you get an e-mail from a "Cyle" Delete as soon as you can!

It's called a bunch of things. I got two the other day both named after sports. "Football.doc.???" and somethin else. In the email it says
"Hi, I want your advice on this"

I still have the unopened virus somewhere on my computer..

Blake that's it exactly! But you have to admit alot of people are getting this virus on this forum. I think they hacked into pbreview.com when it was down several times yesterday. And got all of our information! or Andrew sold all our information on the black internet market. But our information is totally useless, secondly I think they just wanted to take the "who's the hottest" thread! hahahhaahaa

The renamed file would be named whatever the virus writer programmed the code to do...

No biggie.. If you follow the disinfect directions at any of the AV sites they will tell you the specific instructions on how to get rid of them...

Easy stuff.. But if you are infected just make sure you do it quick before it propogates further.
