On August 18 Alien Spaceship carry one hundred Warriors and their Queen will crash at Grunts Paintball Adventure in Villeneuve Alberta 15 min Northwest of Edmonton. 100 Of the Marines elite will being dispatched to save the planet from eminent Destruction and only have 24 hours to do it.
This will be a full Blown 24 hour Scenario and is being designed to be as real as possible. (Well as far as real Sci Fi haha!!) So if you are interested in being apart of this email myself at odie2@telusplanet.net or leave a note here.
Registration should be ready to start on Monday. The exact pricing is not worked out but the owner Of Grunts has assured me that it will be a sweet deal.
I know it's short notice but my dream would be to have everyone registered prior to the big day And I will make up even teams and send out Game packed and missions
so as to limit the confusion at the beginning. We will be limiting the Main scenario game to 200 people however walk ons will be permitted and will play in all the Bonus Point missions.
The game will scheduled like this
August 18 9:00am registration and teams are advised of rules and missions.
Start missions at 12:00pm - 5:00pm have a supper and rest Break as well as Re Chrono to 250 for night play then resume at 8:00pm-4:00am Seize fire till 8:00am For final set till 12:00pm the team with the most points wins.
Or
if we can get enough die hards that register we will have it go for full 24 hours no breaks except you will have to win rations and break time tell me what you think nothing is written in stone I would love to here any Ideas

Ya well, that scenario is a little bit far away for us Albertans to go to now isn't it? So there you have it.
And our scenario is going to be awsome, as soon as I get together with Flash and Odie we will hammer out the fine details.

Well Race, it's a go and it's Shaping up to be a Wicked Game.
Off topic, Does Flash have a Revolution Hopper and if so how loud is it compared to the the other (9v & 12v hoppers)
And would you recommend it.
Later,
O.D.

hehe no not cocky or anything, I'm just getting really excited about it now that its a forsure thing :) hehe
And yeah, Flash has a Ricochet hopper. And there are pluses and there are minuses. Basically you have to make a personnal descision about it.
For example: The rate of fire possible with the Ricochet is almost exactly the same as a normal revolution (9v or 12v) Well, acctually a 12v is slightly faster then a 9v because it has more paddles.
But we're talking about the difference between 10bps and 12bps IF that... so its not a big deal.
If you are thinking about doing sniping and crawling around trying to be quite, then the Ricochet is NOT for you. While the sound of the Ricochet isn't much louder then the others, it works on a different principle then the normal revolutions.
Its kind of hard to explain, but basically the Ricochet spins EVERY time you fire the gun and a ball drops, where as the normal revolutions only spin when you need it to, ie, when a ball is absent from the loading tube. In that respect the ricochet is louder, because it spins as much as you pull the trigger.
The benefits on the other side of the coin, are that there is a built in game timer, ball counter etc. But all of this is at the cost of size. It looks bigger, but most of it is wiring, and so it only carries 160 balls, whereas normal revs carry 180 or so.
I personnally would go for a normal revolution 12v hopper. I have had the same one for a number of months. I used it on my M98, and now I use it on my Intimidator. And it has never failed me :)
On another note, I still need to get an overhead map from you, or whoever might have a basic layout of the area. How big is the field by the way? At any rate, Flash and Pyro get back tomorow or Saturday, so as soon as they get back we'll be shootin ideas around :) I have no doubt that we can probably have all the details pounded out by at least the week before the big day :)

Hope all went well on your trip,
Hey Bubba are you working on the detailed version of the main senario or am i hahahaha Brain Freeze. maybe look at all the crap race and I have been talking about in the other thread and tell me what you think and what should a guy Charge people he was thinking a flat rate for all and I said no not cool some wouldn't come because they don't see the value and then there's Yahoooooooo's like Pyro that will use up 8 cases of balls hahahaha Just Kidding Pyro!!!!
I don't know HELP!!!!!!!!
I was just thinking what do the winners get Nothing I suppose who can afford to go buy 100 prizes (I'M SO CONFUSED)
do these games have prizes (seeing is how it's a none sponsered game) and are they included in the price of the gate or do we have raffles and I think we should roast a couple of pigs for the sat eve seize fire for munchies.
Race You have a 98 right have you ever used the flatline and if so What Freakin paint is good for it cause I'm about to use this thing as a planter. every 2nd shot breaks and this thing is set up perfectly.

I HAD a 98 acctually. I traded it in for an air system :(
BUT I did try out a flatline once, and I really don't know what to tell you. Breaks in it seems weird to me. It should never break that much. Even if its crappy paint.
As for game rates. That is tricky, I'd have to discuss things with my homies first, but I mean, paint has to be as affordable to the regular Joe as possible. I have seen newbies go through 1700 rounds in 5 hours, which usually is unheard of.. but it happens, and we HAVE to accomodate for that. I think you should tell the owners that no matter what they charge, they will be making a large profit off of paint.
Lets say that the owners buy cases of paint at basically 2 cents a ball. Then I would charge no more then 5 cents a ball. At $100 bucks a case, that will still be somewhat intimidating to newbies. I'm not thrilled at paying that much myself, as I will have to buy 2-3 cases. Thats a lot of money....
I personnally think there should be a standard game fee for newbies (which would include equipment rentals etc). And MAYBE a slightly lower fee for Vets since we have our own equipment and really only need air or CO2. (PLEASE say there will be air available!) Say $15 for newbies who pre-register, and $20 for walk ons. Or $10 and $15. Then $10 game fee for vets who pre-register, and $15 for walk ons. Then 5 cents a ball. (Or less?)
They could make some kind of deal if people want to buy more then one case flat out. Like $150 for 2, or $180 for 3?
I don't know, these are ROUGH estimates, but its something to go by :)
No matter WHAT they charge, its going to be a lot of profit though.
NOW, as for prizes.... it is a mixed bag. Since this is basically for fun, there really is no need for prizes.
HOWEVER, you said that this event is unsponsored, so it made me think of this other scenario I read about. A local proshop, basically took their wares to the scenario. They could then sell guns, gun parts (for repairs) etc. I'm sure there will be a number of people in need of both. SO, perhaps you can pitch the idea of not sponsoring (unless they want to), but providing a small proshop to the field. Unless Grunts has their own fully operational proshop. In which case, ignore what I just said.
This is WAY too long winded again... sorry...

OH YEAH, another thing about paint...
If its possible, I would say that some of the best paint to be using is RP Sherer (spelled wrong I know) It may not be the best flying paint, although it is good, RP uses a new method for making their balls which makes them resistant against all kinds of weather. (and acctually makes them rounder as a side effect)
I have had a small bag of about 100-150 RPs in my car for the past 2 weeks. It has been up to 29 degrees and as low as 10 in that time, and those balls aren't stuck together, and I could probably use them right now.
If RP is unavailable, then I dunno... if we can bring our own paint, I might get sum of that. Cuz who knows what the weather will be like.
And oh yeah, is this event rain or shine? I mean, I know that if it rains ppl will go home to their mommies, but are we hardcorers gonna play till our scivies are moist?

The only time this thing doesn't break balls is if I chrono it down to 240-50FPS and if that's the case I can shoot farther and more accurate with my Boomstick at 290FPS If you could check around for me on the Flatline I would be greatful I have tried diablo infernos,Diablo end runs, Marbs,Bigball, Zap Pros and they all are crap. maybe I'll take the flatline back and buy a couple of other ones instead.
As far as the Preds We decided on Bigball because of it's consistency(but if you have a better idea Bring it on). as far as the regular field paint it's diablo Blaze. I have arranged to pick up 40 cases of bigball in Great Falls for $35.00usd I'm not sure exactly what the final cost is since I will have to pay duty and all that stuff But I figure it would end up around 65-75 Bucks a case. And if you think or know a canadian field that pay's 2 cents a ball I wanna meet him and I'll open a Field tommorrow.
Rain or Shine depends on how many hard core people there are. In my opinion most people that register for a 24 hour deal will be hardcore. Hell It's been raining for 2 FREAKIN weeks straight and we've still been playing just about every night so we will be ready if it rains.

Hey I was Thinking (Can ya smell the smoke) We should have a Swap meet instead of a proshop. What do ya think? I thiink everyone has a few things they wouldn't mind getting rid of and with all the newbies there they might want to buy some used equipment before new, I don't know just a thought.

Here's what I've been working on for admission (I have no control over this but I will Ask scott) 25.00 which includes a a barbeque on saturday night and your name will go in for a new Gun worth Aprox $2000.00 or 2-$1000.00 guns tell me what you think.
As far as the Paint prices I haven't spoken to him about it But I would be very surprised they would go under .05 a ball I never heard of any place around here going lower than .06 so but I will talk to him today on this matter.

will there a pro shop or something were you can pick up o-rings or what ever, we will still be able to use blaze for paint
The other players (aliens and Marines) get to use diablo paint.
I'm sure the guys out there have basic stuff, cause you need o-rings to go with th air tanks!

i was wondering about striker o-rings because they are my piranhas main source of food, but other o-rings also apply including bottle o-rings
Striker o-ring? Is that stricly a brand, or are they made out of a special material (other than the usual rubber or synthetic o-rings)
MrENT
07-28-2001, 11:35 AM
Urethane o-rings that go on the striker (not a brand). they are very similar to bottle o-rings,
[Edited by MrENT on 07-28-2001 at 03:42 PM]
I'm pretty sure they have those. I'll ask the field directly. This field by most means is a professional operation, so I imagine they do have hammer o-rings. But I'll double check anyhow.

I think there needs to be a raffle. Since you cannot buy 100 prizes, but I would say go for the two guns not just one.....it gives more of a chance to win and then some small stuff like some squeegies and stuff....but 25 is reasonable I think if it will include the bbq and the raffle prizes.

check the other thread for the lastest and yes they have a truck with lots of stuff. But if you now your gun has special needs don't rely on them. there's gonna be 250 people running around wanting stuff I'd make sure you come prepared. that way you wont have to wait in the line up. Meanwhile back at the ranch We are kickin some Asssssets!!!
