View Full Version : Which Hopper is better?

I have a M3 Black Dragun LED Basic.

I've read that the bps was capped on this gun at 13 (also read some people saying 10).

First, I wanted to confirm with you guys the firing rate of this gun.

Second, I'm trying to decide between the Ricochet AK and the Empire Reloader. I don't think I need a HaloB or Eggy 2 because of the 13 bps cap.

Which do you think would be better?

Also, just to confirm, the AK feeds just as fast as the 2k right?

Yes, the Ricochet AK and 2k feed the same. They are exactly the same except the 2k has some "bells and whistles". Both the reloader and ricochet are about the same. The reloader gets about 1 more bps than the ricochet. It's pretty much what you like the looks of the best

Thanks for the help Caleb!

Does the empire reloader feed as consistent as the Ricochet?

My Revy feeds fast, but not consistent. It likes to pause every 5 balls or so. Great for a burst shooter. But I like to lay down the fire sometimes!

Both are consistent

Now if you already have a revy and don't like it, a rico or reloader won't be to much better. Look into an eggyII

im not sure i like the eggy anymore, of the 6 or so that we have at or field 4 have had problems and one had to be sent back to the factory (who knows when it will come back), as for the agitating hopper i would say the reloader would be your best choice, the one i have seems to be more consistant then the revy and ricos, also if you already have revy shells you can just buy the internals for the reloader as a kit should run you about 40 bucks

I just purchased a turbo revy off a guy. Hope they are equivelant. My Revy is very inconsistent.. you can make it empty into a bucket and it will feed 5 or 6 balls good.. then pause and skip a couple..

Yes, but the ricochet doesnt' feed as consistant ast he reloader. Reloader as Caleb said can do 1 bps more consistantly, 1 bps can make a huge difference.

The eggy 2 had done great with me. I haven't had any problems with it except its pretty big

i believe all the m3's are capped at 10bps, i think it says so on the box as well :eyes:

but still 10bps is not something to look down upon

The LCD draguns are capped at 20bps.

by the way, as for the hopper. i would say go with the empire reloader :D

it seems slightly faster for me compared to a 12v w/ x, plus it's the same price, plus oddysey is making a loader very similar to the empire reloader, there must be a reason for that :D

I posted this elsewhere but...

All electric hoppers are NOT the same.

If you look at the revy 9/12v they are agitated hoppers. That means they have paddles that spin and nock the balls around inside the hopper. You are still relying on gravity to get the balls into and down the tube.

The Evo2 and Halo are more a direct feed. Take a look inside an Egg and you will see that once the balls get into the paddles they have no where to go but into the tube... in essence it is a force feed hopper. Not to the level of a warpfeed but very close.

So do not waste your money on the revy or clones. They just don't do what they need.

Just so you know. I have used VL200, 9V prebrasseagle Revy, 12vRevy with Xboard and they could not even come close to the reliability that I get from my Evo2. I was using an Angle this past weekend with the 12V and it had the anti feed thing on it... several times the marker didn't fire because no paint... and I actually chopped a ball....

So that is just my 2 cents but I think the Evo2 is worth the $60 I paid for it on e-bay.

I totally agree with kuku, just about everything he said was the truth and a accurate factual opinion. I also have a EVO II, and compared to the 12v revvy with X-board, there is no comparision. The Evo II is 1) much more faster, and reliable 2) and the thing that inpressed me was the stability of the hopper, it justkeeps feeding that steady rate that you need to get high BPS.

Well, a few cons for the EVOII:
The thing is a pain to take apart and reassemble. You have mess with seven screws and everything has to be in there just perfect to go back together. Pretty easy to knick one of those little wires if you are not careful. Why can't they design a hopper that you can clean without having to risk messing around with the electronics in the process.
And that plastic bowl (whatever it's called) add in piece is annoying. Just leave it out, you can store an extra 40 balls in your hopper without it.
Finally, the battery cover is just stupid and I'm waiting for the day that I snap the thing off. Very poor design there.

Overall, the functionality is good, but I think they can refine the design a bit to make it a little more user friendly.

Battery compartment is a pain... I have more trouble removing the batteries because the spacer is too tight. As for cleaning it.... I just use a battle swap of papper towel... I have never broken paint in there and take extra care of my marker and accesories so it is not an issue. As for the extra paint? Why? get a harness and then you do not need to worry about it.
