most of the skilled players are in speedball. you dont see woods teams getting sponsered. gotta be quick too

their both about even i think. in speedball you need to be quick and alert. in the woods you also need to be alert but you also have to be paitent. i like speedball cause of the hightened adreline rush you get cause its a higher paced game, but i like in the woods how the games can be larger along with the fact that you can change scenarios. i think that which is better really depends on what you prefer.

Well I think that speedball is more challenging and takes more skill

speedball takes more still b/c you have to always be aware of whats going on around you. have to be able to snap shoot, shoot rather fast and stay in really tight.

It's all about personal opinion and how you play the game. In speedball if you just play in the back and drop paint WITHOUT helping your team through communication or cover fire then you are using no skill except for pulling your trigger. On the other hand, if you're using strategy, quick reactions, and are putting some use behind your shooting then I would consider that skill. In woods if you sit in the corner of the field shooting at every person you see comingtowards you until time runs out, then you're not using much skill either. Being sneaky and outsmarting your opponents is skill. As you can see, I love the mental part of paintball, strategies, tactics, etc...

Always put an " Other " option or a " Both the same " option on your polls. :D

I think speedball takes more skill, but they both take skill.

I like them both just as much, but I think Speedball needs a little m0re skill in the long run.

I don't believe you can logically compare the two. They're two different games, requiring different skills. Because they require slightly different skills, I don't think you can really say that "one requires more skill than the other." To me, it's like comparing apples and oranges... Just my opinion though.

It won't start a riot, twitch will come in here and explain exactly why speedball requires more skill soon. He does it every time someone posts this thread.

i think they are about the same, or maybe speedball is slightly harder. . . because in woods you have more time to think about what you should do and whats going on. in speedball if you dont think fast you've already lost your left tape and are being bunkered. . . so you have to think faster in speedball.

I think speedball is much more skill demanding. Look at all the pros. They play on speedball fields like airball and hyperball for tournaments. You dont see pros running around in woods for tournaments anymore. The people who say woods takes more skill probably say that because their either to scared to play speedball or just gget whomped on every time they do play.

I think pros only get sponsored for speedball because its universal. You build a field with a bunch of bunkers and call it a day. The woods are completely different every 100 miles, you can't build top contending teams on conditions that change state from state. Making a circuit of woods games and tournaments would require funding and popularity that paintball just doesn't have.

Our speedball field is in a forest, acutually. Parts of it used to be an old glass factory, so we've got a couple of bulding, and bridges for cover. This is on the left side. In the middle, it's pure speedball. and the right side of the field is forest.Heh...It's kinda funky:).It IS a speedball field though.

speedball and forest play are two different things. You cant really compare them. Speedball is more of taking what oppurtunities you have like moving to different bunkers and if choosing to go there is the right desicion. In woods you can play more of a strategic game.

speedball is a little harder cause you have to use more teamwork kinda and it is a small field
but unlike speedball in the woods you can hide behind almost ne thing u want to elude the enemy

ok.. yet another speedball vs. woods thread.. its makin me go insane. I'm a hardcore speedballer.. i dont like woods! Lemme tell ya, it just seems so awkward being behind a few bushes and having no real cover, it just seems impossible. I love the tight-fitting bunkerific speedballian mentality.. quick and fun!

ok im blabbering.

i think they both require the same amount of skill for me cause i run to cover in both, i snap shoot in woods lots when there is people behind rocks and stuff and i'm behind trees just like in speedball only the terrain is different.

These styles of play are so far apart from each other you can NOT compare them as which one is funner, which one has more skill, which one is better.... you simply can not!

They are completely different styles of play, completely different fields and environments.

But for which one takes more skill, neither. They both take just as much skill to use the field properly.

Personally, I'm sick of these debates. Paintball is paintball, no matter what field it is on. All you people do when you do these debates is split up the paintball community, and doing so with childish ignorance.

the woodland games were harder b/c we would wiat for hours to get our shots off. But me and Aaron are rare cases. We will simply go out and have a sniper ware. Speedball (I've never played) seems to be something for those who are quick which I think makes games easier b/c you are automatically aware of everything around you. But in woodland games, waiting there for hours on end, really tests your nerves, and your mental resources.
