dude can u just stfu this is about the 5th thread about u whining about ur stupid gun if u suck its ur fault not the gun now stop whining
Some of what the others are saying are true, I used to play with a Genie, which is alot like a Rebel. The only thing that I placed on it was a stock Spyder TL Barrel and Compressed Air. While I played with it I had a great time and was able to keep up with most of the markers out there. I am now useing a suped up Mag and an Angel, but there still are people talking about how I palyed with the Genie Most of the rec play is skill. I wouldn't recommend going up against some of the vets on your field one on one if they have an Angle or something but I will tell you that I did take out several of the electro shooters at my field while I used it.
A lower end marker is a great way to test your skills and even get better. If you know that your marker is not as fast as your opponant you can start thinking about how you can out manouver him. Once you find out your weakness then you can start working on them and turn them into your strengths.
Don't worry about what marker you have, Just worry about how to out think and out play your opponants.
As for cranberynvodka, Don't listen to anything he is ranting about, I have red several other posts where he has made some generalizations about other players that leads me to believe that he is just a loud mouth looking for a fight. Just remember this when you post in the future, Be fair and don't cut down other players. It helps the game grow, just think about a young player looking through the posts and seeing something like this, he could be scaird away from the game. Also, if a parrent is looking for what type of people play paintball before allowing their child to play, what would they think about reading a post that is inflamitory, and degrading.

i like how people always say its not about the gun, yet they have $2000+ guns. hehe i mean if it really didnt matter tourney players would just all use spyders and tippmans. a good gun does help, although it is not going to magically eliminate people for you and keep you in the game, you cant denie that if you have a sweet gun you will somewhat of an advantage over the player with a rental. the reason for high-end guns is mostly for tourneys/speed ball, because when you are snapshooting, and have a spyder, or tippmann, or something like that then you can't pull the trigger as fast, and will only get out like 2 shots, as where with an angel your would get 4 or 5. In rec play, it doesn't really matter what gun you have.(as long as it won;t break, or fall appart)

no its not all skill either though i have had a BE Raptor that i couldnt get the damn thing to chrono over 130fps !!! i was so mad so i sold it to this kid that i dont like for 120 MUWAHAHAHAHAHA when we play with him he get wasted but yeah.. balls dont even break at a distance of 10 feet.. so the gun does have something to do with it

its all experiance, its all skill, its all the marker, what is it all! I dont know, but if you are playing for the first time, dont go out and play with the big angel boys play with people of your own skill or a little better to improve it will be much easier then just playing with the *******s who have full-auto and use it..

Blah, Blah, Bladie, BLAH! That is a load of crap. Yes you have to be good, but the BEST player using a Wal-Mart spyder (xtra) is in no way gonna win a mach aginst a pretty good turney player with a cocker or an angel. "Its all about skill..." NO! Yes you must HAVE skill, but your gun determines SOOOO MUCH

yea but once again if you give a novice player an angel and a tourny plyer a spyder more then likely the tourny player will be on top

A rebel VL is a marker almost identical to a spyder compact. i think they are almost exatly the same and i have heard that too. And it isnt that crappy.
