OK...just took off my stock regulaor and x-chamber off my shutter....I was running at 250psi ....

Put the genX on my asa....hooked up my macro and gassed it up to about 300 psi...and took a test shot....would recock..

I turned it up to 400..and it recocked but my velocity was way low and I had major drop on the ball....

started to change my spring combo...but can't seem to get it...

Any Ideas ...and Yes my ASA is drilled...

your stock reg read 250 right? well the mini x chamber gave that regulated air more volume, thus it was really more psi than the stock reg read...so really you were running a bit higher psi than you really thought...one of the bad things about a x chamber put in after a reg...

I would agree but I have been running with n2 so I think the pressure was constant in the x chamber....(not that I am sure about that)

But I was thinking maybe it was a volume problem...because I don't have as volume infront of the valve...but I thought that wouldn't make a difference...(again..maybe I am wrong)

Or that tha damn guage of kingmans is just way off...

I'm at a loss of what to try...

it might be the gauge...i thought you were runnig co2...if you were that would've made sense..but you're running N2...that's really wierd...n2 isn't affected by the x chamber...hrmm.....maybe it is the gauge..

great....thought you would be able to tell what I was doing wrong....don't like the Idea of running at 400psi....and I don't even know what I would chrono at with that psi...

if I can get the guage off my stock reg...and it fits on the X reg....I'll see if I get different readings..at the same setting......don't know how else to see if that's it or not...

hey do you have a turbo valve? if you don't that's most likely the problem...list the stuff you have on the gun, i m ight know what's wrong from that..

yeah ...I have a 32* valve...heres everything I have

Shutter,32*MagnaValve with high flow pin,32* spring kit
Shocktech delrin bolt,Drilled ASA
GenX,DZ2,Macro....

and I tried to get the gauge off the stock reg....but kingman though good enough to red lock tite it on for me...and I don't want to heat it up too much in case I have to use it...

hrmm..i donno...i'm running 250 psi...i donno why your's shouldn't be either....did you polish your internals and do you have a small bore barrel with little/no porting? That should help, although i don't think that's the reason why..

yes and yes....I can't figure it out...unless one of the gauge's....either the stock or the x or both off....but I can't see how they could be that much different...

that's really wierd man...check out another gauge, and see what that one reads...or take it to your local proshop and ask them to borrow one of their guages..

I think thats what I'm going to have to do....I am trying different spring combo's to see if that helps....

i use the black main spring and the silver valve spring...

so was I.......I can't understand it....I jsut don't know what to think.....

take it to a proshop...see what they say..

it must be the gauges....because after I shoot...with the tank turned off....my pressure doesn't drop noticably on the gauge...so there is enough volume...plus the stock gauge goes up to 1200 psi and the x gauge only goes to 600 before red line but 800 max...so I am guessing that it is a more accurate gauge...as gauge's go...in addition to maybe being off...I'll have to get another gauge an check it out...maybe they will let me test it with one of theirs ...hope that is the problem...or else I don't know what else to try except to run it at where it likes it best....I guess...

ur stick guage will fit. I just went to the pro shop to have a guage tapped to my asa, and they told me i could u se the stock one, but i bought a better guage ne wasy. Try the stock guage, but rememebr, once u take it out, i dont know if u can put it back in, so whatever u do, dont blame. Sorry i had to say that, but i dont want to be liable for ne thing

OK...well I got the stock gauge off and put it on the genX..they both read the same....I put the old system on...and runs fine down to about 250 psi...

Put the new reg on and I have to run at 425psi...

whats the deal?

Spmething definelty isnt right, id bring it to ur pro shop,a nd let them looka at it. Maybe it has something to do with the spring in the reg? Thats jsut a guess though, so i dont know.

take your gun complety apart then put it back together if you havent already thats what fixed my friends c2k when he went lp

well....took the whole thing apart...cleaned and oiled it....drilled two more holes in the ASA and put it all back together....

still only running at 425psi...and can't seem to get it any lower with this regulator....

anyone else know anything that might be the cause of this....has anyone else who put this regulator on their marker had the same thing happen...???

TLplus84

wow you drilled more holes? maybhe i'll do that too..

02-17-2001, 08:35 PM
well it didn't seem to help any with lowering the PSI so I don't think you really need to...but go for it....
