Many people have already requested more mods, and I think Andrew said he was working on it, which is great. Another nice idea is to separate the buying/selling forum either into buying and selling or into categories for what is being dealt like pumps, blowbacks, electro, air, etc. There is just so much for sale that it is difficult to sort through sometimes. Then there is the problem that people don't quite understand what the buying/selling forum is about. Buying/Selling sounds pretty straightforward, but there are a handful of people who just post about anything in there and clog it up. More mods may help this situation. Then they can weed out the funny guys who post "spyders suck" or "angel's suck," etc in the various forums. As funny as it may seem, it really isn't funny at all. Overall, I like this set of forums a lot. It seems that a lot of informed people hang around here, which creates a good environment.

I'd also like to see a Canadian For Sales forum or sub-section. Muck moved alot of our for sale threads into the current one, where our prices are usually criticized and believed to be US dollars.

Andrew, what other trypes of changes will you be doing to the site in the near future? I know uve said something bout upgrading the forums, but how are u actually going to do this and when? Thre a lot of memebers ont his site now, and the forums are getting cluttered with a **** load of spam, so i was jsut wondering what was gonna change and be added on exactly. Thanks

The new forums will just be faster and have some new features.

To get rid of the SPAM and other clutter I am going to find new mods and we are going to make a set of rules. Some things the rules will contain are: Spam will be deleted without warning. Posting inappropriate pictures/text will get you banned without warning!

There are 5 new features I will be adding to the main site that some of you probably know about, but I want to keep quiet about them until they are done!

yeah and who are the mods and what do you look for in good mods?

who really cares about who the mods are, i mean im moe concerned about what the site will be like. Chances are most of us wont be mods, so why do we have to worry bout who they are. If people didnt spam half as much s they do, we wouldnt have a huge mod problem like we are now. I dont know abot u guys, but it pisses me off when im actually trying to ask a question about my gun, and all i get is how could u be so ****ing stupid as to do that?

I knwo this suggestion might pis some people off, but think about it a little bit andrew. What if we got rid of the off topic forum? Half of the people on this site would have no reason to post, and then it would leave it to the none spammer paintball info seeking people. To me, the off topic fourm is where the people who dont knwo enough about paintball go to post so they can raise there post count until it actualy looks like they might know what theyre talking about. I mean, there are people on this site who actualy think a flame forum would make things better, why? It would just bring more people who dont talk bout paintball to the site.

This might ust be me, but dont it piss u off when u go into a froum and u see something like check out my gun, ill kick all of ur asses with it? I liked this site a long time ago, when it was all about paintball, and i was trying to find info,a nd i could get it easily. Now, its still a great site, but its loaded with *******s who just want a high post count instead of actually learning and helping people learn about paintball.

Sorry to go off on u incube, bt it sjust sort of pisses me off to see u and so many other people so concerend bout who will be a mod. All i care is that they will turn this site back into one where uc an learn more about paintball, and not increase spam. I liked how someone (sorry, dont rememeber the user name) said who cares about being a mod and having 9 little balls, all he wants is to be able to go through the site without spam. Thats the kind of mod i would want on this site.

Now that ive just opend up a huge topic bout deleting the off topic forum and everyone is gonna get pissed off, does anyone have ne thing constructvie, like what u want in a mod, to tell andrew before he decides, instead of just asking if u can be one?

I agree with you, A Damned Fool, but I am skeptical as to if that would actually work. To take away the off topic forum would be like losing a limb for message boards. I think most of the members would just flock to various other paintball sites that have an off topic forum. The answer lies in lessening the peoples appetite for the off topic forum. If we were to cut it back and shrink it down, by limiting what goes in there and how much of it goes in, then people would be less likely to post in it. The post counter is another harmful factor to spam. Like you said people use the off topic forum to raise their post count, as if the count were a race or a competition of sorts. If the counter were to go, the spam would leave with it.

Do these new features cost money to implement into the current VBulletin software?

If people leave when the off topic forum goes, then that's great. Less people to clog up the boards. Nobody useful is going to leave just because there isn't an off topic forum. The main problem is that people feel comfortable being really rude from behind their computer screens. Once more mods are around warning and banning people, the problem may be solved.

I think

Keep off topic - but make more rules for it

Get rid of post count

make your little balls under your avatar for how long you have been with the site.

Tell me what you think of this idea...

Make a spammers forum. In that forum only people who have been banned for spamming can get in, and they must post actual paintball comments for an entire month, and not one spam. It will be a general paintbal for the spammers but only the banned spammers can get in. And if they spam in there they will be completely gotten rid of. Just an idea so we can mabye try to turn them around. If spammers can't get back in we will loose half our population. Not that that would be bad, but. just an idea.

No offesnse, but a spammers forum shouldnt be neecesary on a paintball forum. If people leave becasue the off topic forum aint there, good, let them, if they care so much botu off topic, they chouldnt be on a paintball forum. A spammers forum will just add to the crap on this site in my opinion

I like the idea of gettting rid of the post count, and having the little ball things for how long uve been at the site or for how much help u realy do. Andrew shold really tkae that into consideration when upgrading the forums.

Can there be a post count just in the member's profile? I don't care how many posts I have, but fromt time to time I like to see.
