im not sure about that, if u have a store around u just go buy some gun oil. i think that POSSIBLY some oil will eat away o rings. so if u can just go buy some.

if you look at the gun oil for that .38... it should say something like petroleum disilate on it...

and this is what petrol does when it see's o-rings :slurp:

um, if i'm not mistaken 3n1 is a petrolium based oil, which is exactly what you DON"T want on your gun.

hoppes #9 is what tippmann recomends.

Will it work? Well Dow 33 works in a Tippmann. But the thing is, overall you don't use it.

This is a tip that everybody should know. The oil you use to relubricate the marker is the oil the manufacturer suggests.

Own a BKO? Use teflon spray.
Own an automag? Automag lube
Own a Shocker? Dow 33 greese
Own a Stingray II? ATF

And of course if you own a Tippmann, what do you use? Hoppes 9. Tippmann says H9, then that means it's what you use. That is what the marker was made and designed to use, and that's what it works best with.

Sure Mag lube or such can also work, but overall it's best to use what the Manuf. says.

Yes, all gun oils are the exact same. Same compounds are in each one

And you know why? Because their o-rings and overall manufacturing research was made specifically to be used with that oil.

You use 3 in 1 on a Stingray guess what? Eventually it will leak. Know why? Because Stingrays were specifically designed to be used with ATF fluid to make the rings slightly swell up and seal better.
