I am looking for a really quiet barrel for my E-99 with a price around $50 or less and need some suggestions. I want a quiet barrel because me and a bunch of my friends play at night and my current barrel is really loud. I heard a guy at my local field using an All American on a cocker and it was very quiet. Now I know that Spyders are always really loud but I was wondeing if a good barrel would quiet it down.
I was wondering, will a quiet barrel make a big difference on an E-99 or not?
I was thinking about either a 32 Degrees Whisper barrel or a Smartparts Teardrop. Which would be more quiet?
If there are other good barrels that are cheap feel free to post them.
I know there will be someone who will come here and tell me to get the CP 1 piece. I ordered a Longbow last week and should get it tommorow (Can't wait!!!). I don't need a really good barrel (as I already have one), just a really quiet one that is fairly accurate.
Oh, sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I didn't know if I should put it in Kingman or Barrels but I decided it was more related to barrels so I stuck it here ;)

I have found smart parts to be very quiet on spyders. My friend has a all american on his e99 and its just a tiny "thump" when he shoots. I've used a teardrop and found it EXTREMELY quiet, contrary to my expectations. so you might want to look into those.

I bought a whisper for my rebel and i cant really tell much of a difference. It does make it a lot more accurate though. It will be pretty hard to silence a blowback anyway.
get either an AA or Big Daddy. dye has pretty nice barrels too (i.e. SS, ultralite, and boomy). the best way to do it, is see if your proshop will let you test barrels either at the shop or renting it out. then, see which one you like.

cp one piece
sp teardrop
sp progressive
if you want to go under $50
porting can make a gun quiet down, most of my markers make popping sounds when they fire

unless you lower your pressure you're not going to notice much difference between barrels.

not just the pressure or just the porting but one or the other will still make a difference
the porting/pressure combo will make the biggest diff in sound :P

The whisper is the quietest, but not the best out of thsoe 3.
The teardrop and the CP are the same in sound but the CP is an overall better barrel.

Another good barrel under $50 would be the DYE Excel

the tear is quieter than the cp but the cp is slightly more accurate

I like my whisper just fine. It might not be the most accurate barrel, but it is still considerably better than the stocker. The only downside to it is that it is very hard to clean all the paint out of the porting.

none of those barrels shoot great through breaks. It'll take as many as 10+ shots to clean.

well i dont use expensive paintballs. I use 32 degress competition paintballs. I have shot 2 cases and probably on broke 10 balls. Most of those were because i had my gun turned up pretty high though.

'00 Freak Jr is fairly quiet on my spyder and extremely acurate. Most of the guys I play with say they can barely hear when I shoot.:P

Hmm, I've never asked anyone to listen to me shoot from, say 10 yards away, we're all right next to each other....Ill ask about next time I head to the field.

you know i dont really keep track of my gas efficiancy, but I have no problem shooting around 800 paintballs with a 12 ounce co2 tank. I dont think it shoots very badly, it added 50 feet over my stock 9 inch barrel(my whisper is a 14). It doesnt shoot very accurate if you turn your volocity way up, but when shooting around 290 it shoots pretty good. It isnt as accurate as my brothers stainless 2-piece, but i am happy with it.
