pill - you deserve to be flanked and shot in the ***** by ME
cocker - most important thing in a game is communication and walking the field
if you know what's going on at all times then you've got a huge advantage over everyone else. communication is the hardest thing to pick up among your team. beginners will complain why should they yell out things, the other team will hear? so what, you're hearing what they say and you'll make them think twice. if you can use codes that's even better but it's a bit slower remembering them all. sign langauge is also good if you can keep a watch on most of your team.
most advanced players will tell you that 85-90% of the game lies in walking the field. take some time in learning the field (especially if it's speedball), learn every angle, there's usually at least 1 bunker that's superior to all the others and will give you total control over the game, each team always has 1-2 players who gets this bunker on the break. organize your team in seeing who's playing what position, i see too many people arguing over positions when the ref is about to blow the whistle

A good player is a FLEXIBLE player.
If you play only 1 position well, I don't consider that a good player. You need to be able to pick up the slack where-ever and whenever it's needed.
And don't get me started on spray-n-pray players...

A good player is someone who never gives up, learns from mistakes, works good with his team, never complains about stupid crap, and is a good sport.

Well, theres several aspects to a good player.....but i think it boils down to 2 catagories.Your field skills(bunkering people, accuracy, speed etc, etc) and teamwork. While the former has its advantage I believe teamwork will win the game over half the time.Me and my bro alone took on a team of four people and due the fact they were horribly disorganized we won without either of us taking a hit.A team of 5 people is going to beat 5 guys running about doing random things on thier on.Thing is,it seems to be easier to practice shooting skills than it is to convince some gun-ho player that running about in a silly fashion by himself is only going to show the noobs what not to do.

i still say everything lies in walking the field
you can have 1 guy who basically lives in the field and a 2nd guy who's playing the field for the first time but has pretty darn good accuracy
i would go for the person who knows the field

Yeh, when I'm in a prop getting up in the other guys faces I always wonder what kind of angles I will have on the other team if I move to next prop but I never know wether I'm gonna win the game or get lit. I need to start walkin the field more often.

There is one thing that has won every game, every war, every title and championship, ever prize dollar, and everything in life: planning.
One of my coaches said, "Proper planning prevents poor preformance," and he was damned right about that!!!
Plan...that's about it. The best players plan effectivly.

im a fast runner,i consider myself one of the better woods players in my area. i ususly rush the front, before the other players found their bunckers, i've already take out 2-3 of them and my whole team is right behind me. my "grab-the-flag" rate is over 90% so i guess the key to play well is fast:agree:

Obviously the best player is whoever has the best gun or who has an angel. DUH!
J/K. My definition of a good player-
Good communication skills
Good playing skills (shoot lefthanded, right handed, stay in tight, etc.)
Good personality (Doesn't throw the damn 1,000 dollar gun on the ground after he/she loses)

Good players don't play woodsball.
lmao...ummm, this comment makes it quite obvious that you're a very young/new player.
First of all, how does the scenery of the game determine whether or not the players are good?! Don't you realize how ridiculous that sounds?
And secondly...woodsball tournaments received national TV coverage on ESPN for years. They are at the very heart of what paintball is today. And the older, more experienced, hardcore players recognize this fact.
Personally, I think running around a bunch of neon colored plastic barrels or inflatable bubbles takes some of the fun out of the game. I started playing for realism and the "simulation' of combat. Rainbow colored markers and speedball-ish fields ruin the game for me, they just aren't my cup of tea.
Give me a forest or jungle field and I'll make you my bit@h. ;)

Someone that has good leadership skills to direct his teammates to victory. But they also need to be able to get eliminations and help their team.

Congratulations, you win the award for "Least able to pick up on sarcasm." Sorry, but I'll give you honorable mention for "Most up-tight" and you came in third for "Least able to take a joke."
