search this forum for "big game" there were a bunch of us were there. Unfortunatly, my group was the only one on team Delta. You got a LOT more playingtime than a usual day, because there were re-insertions every 1/2 hour, and no breaks all day.

What about something more "theme'ish"? Stuff Like Lord of the Rings; Star Wars; Star Trek' some random Sci Fi; Viet Nam; Gangsters; WWII from the Pacific Theater...We have a couple of months to plan this and submit it. Maybe we should really think about it?

600 people..better get there early, if you want a parking spot, or a table.

El Fox, the last big game (at Fox4) had about 400 people, each side had a base at one end of the field (where the recycles would rejoin every half hour) There were objects that had to be retrieved from all over the field, and you'd get points for capturing various areas (and a lot of points for capturing the enemys base...which our general ignored)

you could sign up for the team you wanted to be on ahead of time...there wasn't really a difference. And there weren't any special roles on the teams (aside from the medics, which nobody wanted to be)

I just called them and they said that you can send check or cash, but if you do send cash "We're not responcible for what happens to the money" ;)

Well, I signed up. Last I checked there were 164 going, and i chose COBRA as promised. I ordered and received my 3 cases of pmi premium and 2 grenades. I can't wait!

It's even worse, I called up today and they said they only had 122 (yeah only 122) But that means that 12 more just...disappeared! :eek:

I think the first one was a LOT better organized than this coming one

the flyer on their website for this one is in .bmp format, which takes MUCH longer to download, instead of a jpg

the team signup/cost worksheet page was seprate from the waiver..(since I organized the finances for my group, this was very helpfull)

the early registration deadline was too early..we're not going to this one, because we missed it.

There were guys promoting this game at Adventure Games in NH this weekend. Guess they're really pushing to get more people. (I've been signed up as a Joe for some time.)

One of the refs I was talking to last week said that a lot of people will show up and register the day of the event. He was confident that a lot of people would be there.

Played in the big game and it was great. Had a lot of fun. Got shot out by Cobra a few times (good shooting guys) and once by my own side (bad target ID guys). I saw good sportsmanship all around and even had a Cobra apologize for hitting me more than once. (I thought nothing of it, it was only one extra ball while I was checking for hits.)

Had to leave during the raffle (my ride was tired and wanted to go) so who won? I know Joe was leading near the end and we had lost our HQ (got shot out trying to retake it).

I was on the hillside below The Pagoda and could hear Cobra Commander during the 2nd to last insertion speech. Our C.O. was less colorful but gave away less intelligence about objectives. (hehe)

Also, anyone have a summary about how the game played out? I mean what happened when? It was confusing being on the ground and un-connected to events. I got a general sense of the ebb and flow but not a defenite idea of the critical points.

Early on, Gi Joe took the lead but it was close. At about 12, Cobra took the lead by about 400 points and had completed almost half our missions. then gi joe really took us by suprise and came back in full force. Gi Joe ended up winning 3375 to 2725 i believe. Our Cobra squad didnt hold the gi joe base for long, those recycles got us very fast and retook giligans as well.
I had a blast there, disagreed with one ref but its cool. nice job fox 4:D

You held the HQ at the very end though, while most of the other Joes were moving on Cobra from Gilliagans, I was escorting a medic to revive our C.O.

We launched a counter assault on the 3 (?) Cobras holding HQ with him, his exec, a medic, one of my friends and myself. We didn't take the HQ back though.

I agree, Fox4 put on a good show. I didn't care if my side won or lost I had a lot of fun. I can't wait for the next big game there.

Rumor has it that it'll be in October and last I heard Storm Troopers vs. Ewoks. Rick (the ref who looks like Willie Nelson) wants to general for that one for the Storm Troopers. If thats the case I'm goin over to the dark side. :)

ya i herd that it was storm troopers verses ewoks 2 sounds awsome i went to the big game and had tons of fun i was on cobra(any joes at there base when we charged it where sure sorry)also if cowboy is out there sorry for wasting one of your granades there was a guy behind that bunker like 5 min before he ended up moving back and he jumped out and shot at me but i got him first but he still hit me so i went out

Which time were the Joes in the base sorry? Every few hours some one told me we'd lost HQ. Seems like everytime I left something happened right behind me. :D
