Alright heres my scenario, ive been playing for about a year and am FAIRLY serious about paintball. Currently i have a PMI Piranha and have found it very reliable and an ample amount of mods. However i thinking of moving on, i have a steady enough income but money is still a major factor

i would keep the pirahna, if you get a cocker you cant stop upgrading it. trust me. i am still upgrading. STOP ME!!!

The 'Cocker is far superior to the Piranha. It is more expensive but is a higher quality gun, more efficient, has a higher rof, and is much more accurate. With some modifications and upgrades it can be even more efficient, truly LP and help you become more competitive.
Regardless of what people think paintball as a whole is an expensive hobby. It only depends how much you are into it as to how expensive it can become.

well, like what u said, money is a factor in every thing. if buy the cocker ull need to upgrade that 2, if you keep your pirahna ull find that u'll want something better, i recomend the tl plus to any one, but if u got the money go for the cocker. go for what u think ull afford, also keep in mind "r u that serious about paintball, and will u give it up soon?"
good luck

u can upgrade a prianha as much as u want but i cant beat an upgraded cocker. you can just buy a cocker and get a barrel and it can be just as good or better than an upgraded piranha. as u can see i have an cocker, used to have a upgraded spyder.

Drako, I'm in the same boat ... I really like my Piranah, but I want something a little better. I've decided to make a couple more upgrades to my STS G2, and my End-of-the-Year goal is to buy a Automag, maybe a RT Pro or a customized Mag from BBTpaintball. Maybe you should set a date, a few months down the road, and work toward that goal. You may even be able to save enough money so that you can keep the Piranah as a backup marker.

I hear ya ... There's some really sharp looking cockers out there, but I'm in Lust with the Automag RT ... It looks like something outta the original 1930s Buck Rogers movies ... I think I can hold on to my Piranah for another seven or eight months, Then I'll Pimp myself out on the corners to get the extra cash if I have to

If I were in your shoes, I would save my money up for a bushy. You can get them pretty cheap now, around $500 in some cases.

Get the cocker....I did and I haven't looked back since. Just be careful...cockers are like crack. I just spent another 175 on mine this weekend. Just bought an ANS chrome front block assy.. Bobo long valve, and the valve tool so that I actually put the valve in. I am also desperatly trying to talk myself out of getting it milled and anodized....ahhhhhhh. I will be living in a box under a bridge but I will have the coolest paintball gun ever I tell ya....wahwahwahwah.

ANS pnuematics?? Why ? why on earth would you buy that? Might as well keep stock.
Why do you have such a giant problem with ANS frontblocks? My friend has them, and he loves them. I don't know that many people that have them? The airsmith I work with recommended them, but it could just be that he wanted the money from me. I can still stop the order(I probably can until tommorow, but I have not heard anything bad about them until right now.

i tried the ANS Cocker yesterday, and the STO cocker..i like the STo so much better..somethinga bout the smoothness of the STO..i didn't like the ANS much..it was ugly and even though the trigger was short, it wasn't smooth..and it started leakin LOL

i just got the ans front pneumatics, i heard they were good. is there anythig wrong with the ans front pneumatics
TLplus84
02-19-2001, 10:29 AM
i think there are alot better front pneumatics out there, like the SHocktech or the Palmer's front pneumatics..
Well, since all you guys seem to have problems with the ANS parts...what would you recomend?

ANS are not horrible performance wise. They are just not nearly as good as any of the other companies out the, KAPP, Palmers, Shocktech, AKA, MacDev, and ANS costs more than these. So it would be cheaper(and much, much, much better) to get a palmers rock, shocktech 3-way, palmers ram, and a milled front block for example.
COOL. I'll look into that. I think that I might have just got caught up in the moment:) It happens almost everytime I walk into Brushfire games..(the local proshop). I think I will stop by there today on my way home from work, and cancel my order. THANX. :)

Here are your options listed in the order of the best idea:
1.Get the cocker and customize.
2.Upgrade a piranah till its near as good as a cocker.
3.Get a spyder and upgrade for a while.

At first I thought this was a which is better poll that would of been hard.............not!, cocker I would say would be winning right now by a long shot, but dont get me wrong I love spyders I have one myself but cockers are really good but high matenince is required!
What maintainance is needed on a cocker that is not needed for any other gun. I have owned a Spyder, Pirahna, M98, and an Autococker. I can only think of one thing that I have to do to my cocker that I didn't have to do with all my guns. The only thing that is a little different is that you have to time it if you mess with the neumatics, but once you time it once you don't have to do it again for a long time. Other than that all you need to do is clean and oil it.

I thought that cockers were high maitenence too, but it's really not. The only thing that cockers need to have done that other guns don't is timing, and tht really isn't that hard if you practice at it.
man go for the cocker, just make sure you have money for all the stuff your going to need (waiting never hurt anyone unless your like 99 years old and living a weeek is like a godsend and you live in this trailer like full of sharp things and you could......oops if started to babble about senseless things:))

Naw no steady job, ive got merchant skills in my blood my friends say tho. Besides elling stuff i got lucky. When i was about 8 i got real into this "new" game called magic the gathering. i spent all the money i could on it. The set i started with was Beta. Now if yall know anything about magic you know alot of beta cards are worth like 500. So basically iv been slowly selling of my collection. Ive got about another 1200 i think i can get out of it. :)
