Alright, I'm not exactly a newcomer to Paintball. I'm 12 years old and I just tried it for the first time this year, but I go often and I'm considered by some an excellent sniper. Earlier this year, I didn't know anything about paintball. All I knew was I wanted to buy one along with my friends and shoot whatever we could without gettin caught or yelled at ie. fences, street lights, over the fence and see what it hits, pop bottles, whoever pisses you off. I bought a Brass Eagle Talon Ghost and thought it was the bomb cause I knew nothin about nothin. I was just glad I had convinced my parents to but me one. Then the barrel cracked from the damn plug, and I couldn't shoot you if I walked up to you and pointed it against your skull. So I returned it and got a Brass Eagle Saber (WOW) j/k. It shot a bit harder now and an aluminum barrel at least wont crack. Then I was planning on goin with my 2 friends who also had pump guns, but one took of God knows where and the other couldn't get money. So I called up my other friend who had never heard of paintball and went with him. It was the first time for the both of us. Capture the Flag had just opened in the NE so it was just the 2 of us there. I had a pump Brass Eagle and he rented a Semi Auto Spyder. Suprisingly, I beat him and actually shot him in the first few seconds of the game when we were both in our bases across the feild. I came again later with my friends that had there pump guns but they ditched em for rentals, and I was stuck with my pump while 20 others had semi autos. What did i do? ditch it! and i did fine. ive gone a tons lately and i beat my bro and my friends both against me with a damn rental. ive also won a few Capture the Flag games. i took back my Sucker (excuse me, saber) and now i just ordered a Brass Eagle Raptor Xtreme off the internet for only 100 bucks at paintballgear.com. excellent price? i think so. i live in canada and that is usually 250 to buy.. im payin 153. ive been readin reviews all over of this and people either say it sux or its the best ever. now i wanna know what YOU think. and dont say its crap just cause its a Brass Eagle, please??? i know they suck but this gun looks fine for my first semi auto paid with my "paid once in a while" allowance for pullin weeds. now please try and have somethin positive about it cause I went to an Offspring concert last night and im in a great mood, so dont f*** it up by sayin that i ordered a piece of crap on its way in a box, but yet try and be honest.

I've played with people who have raptors, and they seem fine as long as they aren't broken. But its kinda hit and miss with ones that break. I know someone whos had one for over a year no problem... another friend of mine bought one and it broke after about 15 minutes of play. Good luck. :)

I wouldn't say they're bad. If you don't play alot, I would consider it a great thing. I used a PGP or Splatmaster for YEARS just because it was the ONLY thing around. Anyways, next time you are in the mood for buying a gun, I would STRONGLY consider one of the Pirahnas. They are EXCELLENT guns for the money. The Raptor is not a bad gun, it's just not the best you could have gotten for your money. Also, I should mention that the gun does not make the player. If you can learn how to use a Raptor REALLY good, then dog-gone-it, you gonna WHUP SOME @$$. Two years ago and three years ago, my team won first place in one of the largest tourneys in Ontario and I was the middle/back player and I used a Tippmann Prolite. People considered me a fool. people using Angels, Cockers and Mags and I'm using a Prolite. I proved that what you need is skill. A fast trigger is just a bonus. Good luck. Treat the gun with respect and you should get the same.
