I am getting like 800 shot's out of a 72/4500 do you guy's now how I can fix this.
If you dry fire does it take up more air. Because I play like one or two game's and I am out.
Can you help me:)
Sorry for being so stupid. I probable sound like a nOOb:crazy:

dry firing takes up like 10 times more air than normal. i could stand outside and empty my tank (68/3000) in about 2 minutes. but, with paint, i get half a case easily. just pay for all day air at ur feild.

Thanx for the info I thought that it took up more gas to dry fire.
Do you know any way's to make it more efficient so I can get more shot's I hear of some get like 1500 of 68/4500 I should be able to get alest that with a 72/4500 right???:)

a vapor valve would help. also, check if u have blowback. if u do, that is also hindering your efficiency. if u do have blowback, get a vapor bolt. also, dont get an aa or freak barrel, because they have too much porting which results in worse efficiency.

how do u get worst efficencey when u dry fire?? UR gun uses the same amount of air each shot or cloes to the same. doesnt it:rolleyes: Ur lpr is set wrond probly. That happened to my gun too.

i dont know how it wastes more air, but it does. yesterday at my feild i filled my freind eblade cocker and just dry fired it, the tank emptied in no time. the tank was filled to 3600, and didnt last more than 5 minutes. same goes for my bushy.

When dry firing people dont keep track of how many times they are really pulling the trigger. I thought my bushy was getting way less shots dry firing than with paint, as well. I set down and put the marker on full auto at 20 CPS and timed it from start to finish. I then calculated the amount of shoots. I was very close to what I get when I play. Maybe a difference of plus 50 shots. However there isnt anyway to tell if the last 50 shots were at proper FPS since nothing was going through the marker.
If you are seeing poor shot count you might want to do a little cleanign and greasing, once that is done do some tuning.
Try this
Adjust your HPR to 200 PSI
Turn your LPR knob clockwise until you hear a leak in the rear of the marker.
Turn the LPR knob counter clockwise one full turn.
Chrono the marker. Make adjustments on the HPR to get your desired FPS. Dont adjust the LPR for the FPS. This should get you the best efficentcy without doing some major reg tuning and adjusting.

When I chrono I was only at 225. And I even counting. It is not like i went crazy I only took a couple of shot's. I played like 2 games 500 rounds. and dry fired like 200 to 300 at the most. That is only like 800 shot's. Is their packing gress in the gun that i need to take out. It is still really new and should not need much greasing yet unless their is packing gress inside.
BTW I won those two games:P :P

Well, in my case Shootpaint is right. I'm getting the same amount of air dry firing it and w/ paint. I even dry fired it to figure out how many shots i can get from my 68/4500 and when I shoot it w/ paintballs, it got the same amount of shots. Right now I can get at least 1500 shots from my tank, no kidding, and it's mostly stock. I just changed my older generation HPR main spring to a stiffer one. and it works like a charm.
Maybe ur problem is ur regs aren't sweetspotted yet. There has to be a right setup for both lpr and hpr. Here's what happened to mine and how i fixed it :
I was getting bad efficiency at the chrono and the velocity maxed out at 240 to 250. I did like the manual says; turn the lpr all the way until it bleeds, but it never does that so I turned my lpr down and turned it back up slowly untill the bolt is retracted all the way (make sure u do a clearing shot for these steps). then I adjust the HPR, I turned it back up slowly until the velocity drops. there's a certain point wehn it's gonna do this, but I maxed out at 260 and the velocity drops when I turned my hpr up. So i turned it back down to the optimum pressure (the highest velocity) and started to turn the LPR up !! Oh my hpr is at 240 psi right now.
This is important. I originally think the lpr doesn't have anything to do w/ shooting velocity but it DOES !! So I turned the LPR up and now I am shooting 280 fps w/ the maximum efficiency. Like I said before. Now I'm getting 1500 shots form my 68/4500. Well hope this helps.

Yes there is grease in the ram assembly, when it comes from ICD. I dont know what they are using but it is very tacky and doesnt lubricate very well, IMHO.
On my 2K3 just from cleaning out the grease, that was there from the factory, and regreasing it with some of my homemade lube, I was able to drop the pressure on the HPR 25 PSI. The bolt pressure went from 100psi to 85psi.
I highly recommend regreasing the marker as well as the regs and then adjusting the regs. I bet you will see better efficentcy as well as a increase in your FPS.

THANX guy's I did what u said and I am getting great gas efficiency now.
Yet a new problem evolved. It seems that the gas is leaking from the gage. Unless their is supposed to be a hissing sound coming from it:crazy:
What do you think I can do to stop this. Will I have to re Teflon tape it or what.
THanx for your help:)

Teflon tape can and will clog your solenoid. Use loctite blue. Is the hissing sound actually comming from the guage threads or near the guage? Put a little dishsoap and water in a spray bottle, gas it up, spray lightly around to see where exactly the leak bubbles from. If it's around the threads, run out to homedepot.. or any other hardware store and buy some loctite blue (mine came in a red bottle so look for the name loctite blue) and put a little on a toothpick and get it into the grooves of the thread. Not a lot.
Screw the guage back in, tighten, let it set.

Thanx I got it to work fine.
I have one more question what is the stock barrel supposed to be mine came with a one peace. I ask this in another thread but no one responded. mine shoot's great but I want to know. I saw some one at my Field with it and theirs came with a two piece.
Thanx:)

earlier generations came stock with a 1 piece, more recent generations came with a 2 piece barrel.

Mine is a B2K3 and I got it a month ago. should it not have a two peace
DagNasty

depends on the generation.. because you got it a month ago doesn't mean it's a new generation. Bushmasters generation 8 through 11 have 2 piece barrels, so if yours has a one piece and it's not an aftermarket barrel then either you don't have a b2k3, you do have a b2k3 and someone swaped barrels before you bought it, or you have a new BKO :D which use old b2k barrels..

looks just like mine. :D
Should have a 2 piece barrel. I have my 2 piece which was never used.. if yur interested.. also have a freak set for a b2k with ICD threading for sale..
Somehow, through several trades I ended up with 3 freak sets, 2 ICD threading, 1 with imp threading... lol

The last two B2K3's I sold came with one piece barrels. The two previous to these came with two piece barrels. The only different between the four markers is Cocker threading and PDS. The last two were both cocker threads and have PDS on them. The previous two didnt.

shoot - so what you're saying is ICD guns with cocker threading have a one piece barrels..

How much are you looking to sell the freak for. Do you have any pictures of it so I can see. I don't know how much I would buy it for until I see it.
Shoot Paint mine in ICD threading and I have no PDS. I don't know what that mean's maybe the person I bought it from switched it. It is an OK barrel though.
Do you think They would switch with me for a two piece or does anyone want to switch with one to two piece barrel I would be interested to see the differences.
O yea DagNasty You said you never used your stock you want to give it to me. I would pay a couple dollars for it plus shipping. And tell me about the freak and send pictures.

The last two markers I recieved had one piece barrels. They were both cocker threads with PDS. I am not sure if that makes a difference or not. I have not had a 2K3 in stock in about a month so I am unsure if they are shipping with one piece barrels.
On a side note. The reason I say they are one piece barrels is because they dont come apart. I havent done a real close inspection to see if they are a two piece of not. They are not the same barrel that had been coming with the standard B2K3's.

I doubt they will exchange the barrel for a two piece. I cant say this for sure since I am not part of ICD, but that would be my guess.
Best thing to do is call them and ask them if they would switch you.
