all of the above! i think tournament style play brings it closer to a sport like feel, with arenas so you can spectate, bright colors, hi tech gear and so on. . .

yes, i agree with venom, People shouldnt call paintball, commandos games... I dont were camo... i dont want my gun to look like a real gun
try brightly colored MARKERS...and the use of the word MARKERS instead of gun

Brightly colored stuff probably helps... but without anything official like tournaments, then it would still just be a bunch of people shooting each other in forests.

I think whats changing it most is resposible, safe fans of the game, tourney or woods, inviting a freind or two to join them and showing them a good time. Lets face it, tourney play gets almost no media coverage outside of a few paintball publications that are read almost exclusively by players. It doesn't matter what you all wear if it's not on sportscenter every night.
It's a sad fact that the publics perception of painball is mostly influenced by the few idiots who drive around in cars and vandalize things with thier paintguns. They dont see those of us who have goggle and barrel plug rules and make everyone chrono thier gun at the start of the day, because it is not a news story. Maybe we should start to invite reporters out to the games to do human interest story's and show them what its really all about. A good safe FUN adrenilen pumping time!
