What does camo have to do when some Idiot uses sporting equipment to hurt people or vandalize property?
And why doesn't it get more coverage when kids go driving around playing mailbox baseball. Or when someone is assaulted with a Golf club? I can answer that one actually. There is a group of hysterical anti-gunners out there who want to sensationalize anything they feel they can exploit in order to eliminate our second amendment rights. Including misuse of paintball markers. In there minds there is no distinction between my HK91 and my Minimag. Hunters and exmilitary tend to be two groups strongly opposed to this sort of attitude, so I dont think paintballers should be so opposed to them.
Imo paintball is a shooting sport, The same as an olympic shooting competition, only with different rules and equipment.(BTW USA won gold in the last Olympics for this, bet you didn't hear about this on the news though)
The attitude that needs to change is that all guns are evil. Any gun is an inanimate tool, it is the user that is ultamately responsible. A paintball gun can be dangerous in the wrong hands. This is true. So can a hammer or a screwdriver. We allready have laws to protect us from such misuse, and it is our resposibility to make sure that they are enforced. Passing legislation to ban something only creates a new class of instant criminals out of honest citezens and does nothing to protect the public.

No, it sypbolizes nothing, it makes you harder to see.
If you are in a red room for paintball you will wear red clothes, not war in those sercumstances (spelling)

camo = war?
bah thats crap (not a flame)
its just comon sense, even thought I love paintball it does resemble war to a certain to extent. But not that much. Plus I just want to add, the only abuse I think is fit is to amush friends that are make you extremely mad.

In Finland when we play in the forest everybody wears camo and stuff. A team that won Finland's championship in CTF had ghille suits, bushes and stuff glued onto them because it helped them win...Camo isn't war....
[Edit] Then again, Finnish people know what paintball is about, and don't think it is guerilla warfare in a jungle like some of the American public :) [Edit]

I seen that video tape. Not that I would do that or tell anyone to do that,, you gotta admit, when they shot they guy on the bike, it was pretty funny. But I totally agree with NOT doing stupid things with paintball guns. Last week uptown where I live, some of the shops got shot up with paint. Now, it looks like paintball is for thugs or something.

Don't go attacking the american public. We are all human and should stick together. Finland is americas brethren and we should all learn to except the fact that earth is home to all of us. Paintball is enjoyed throughout the world. 99% of the ballers I play with prefer jerseys, but I see no problem with gillhi suits or camo, everybody enjoys it a different way. China is great and so are it's people along with turkey, vietnam, switzerland, germany, canada(they have incube whome I find to be particularly entertaining), mexico, africa, egypt, japan, taiwan, mongolia, finland, usa, australia, and any other place inhabited by humans. Working together, humans are the most powerful conquerors in the universe and should prevale over all forces that oppose us in any given case. Paintball included. So lets not go pionting fingers and blaming the other for paintballs oppresors. They are there and need to be delt with, this is the situation and only votes, spoken oppinions and protesting are going to save our sport from these uninformed combatants who choose to remove paintball from society because they feel threatend by it. Fighting amongst ourselves and blaming one another will not make the problem go away. And what the hell happened, why is this so different from the last time, there are a million new smilies and my little box is different. I fear change and will keep my bushes.

Hehe, Don't worry, I love the U.S...Paintball gear is ½ cheaper there :) (Half or more...seriously). But you have to admit....Some of the American laws that touch paintball are a little strange.

PEOPLE! Paintballers that wear camo doesn't mean they are newbies or like war or something! When Playing in the wood's you want to hide better. Like in EVERY sport the object of the game is to WIN (but not at all costs, I hate wipers)! So to win you don't want to dress up in orange and Yell, "HEY LOOK I'M OVER HERE!" What you want to do is try to blend in with the woods so you can SURPRISE people.
This does not go for people that play speedball. If you play speedball wear what ever you like. I think it looks cool to wear jerseys and reflective lens or what not.
But the point is that wearing camo doesn't mean you are a bad player or you like war.

Oh yeah, I really don't know any laws regarding paintball here in colorado. Cops generally just tell us to go farther away when playing on un-official fields or whatever, but forrest rangers will sometimes make you clean up the mess. Because the police are so cool about it most times, I've never looked into the laws that affect paintball. It's not illegal, that makes me happy and we can pretty much play whereever we want as long as we don't damage private property or endanger people not particpating in the game. Field owners will tell scary stories about having to pay fines and scrubbing trees, but I don't believe that. I've been caught by the police twice and they said, "the mountains are a great place to shoot each other" I swear that's what one of them said. The other said go farther away from the city and don't hop any fences.
