Hey all... I need help. Here are my two choices, with prices:
Smart Parts Vision Impulse w/ vert. regulator 520
Tape Worm 25
OTB 90* Frame 150
Derlin Bolt 35
LPR Kit 65
Anno Job 100-200
AKA Viking Cobalt Blue 930
Super LPR
Sidewinder Reg
Lightning Bolt
Javelin Barrel
Cartridge System
So basically it comes down to 90* Frame or 45* frame, and the overall feel of the guns... I love both, and I must say the super efficiency of the Viking is very appealing, especially since i play both tourney and scenario games. All help is greatly appreciated!

I own both a Vision Impulse and a Viking. I have an I-frame on my Impy and I can shoot it faster than my Viking right now, I havent gotten used to the trigger on the Viking yet. My Viking has the new valve in, so that helps even more on the efficiency. The only thing I wish my Viking had that my impy does is the eye, but with the release of the WAS board an eye will be available for it before long. The Viking is lighter than my Impy. I would have to say VIKING all the way.

I don't own either of the two markers, but I feel the Viking is better for a couple reasons. Easier maintenance and better efficiency. Not to mention the new ones come with the new solenoids and WAS boards. Yeah, I'm at school...gotta do some work. Good luck with your decision.

Well which one is famous for having FSDO ? That should answer your question.

LOL, sorry. The Impulse and Shockers are famous for First Shot Drop Off. Its very frustrating. The Viking runs a solenoid that requires no special grease (Dow33) I think its called a wet solenoid. The Viking is hands down a more solid dependable gun.

FSDO is easily solved with a few upgrades. I've shot both and I have a very tricked out 2k2 Impulse. Although the viking I shot was stock it was still very nice. If you buy that impulse and put a WAS board on it I'd go with that. Both are very very nice guns OTB Frame + WAS Board on that Impulse will just kill almost anything.
Nordic and -=DFOX=- are both right.
Yes, Impulses are famous, or rather infamous, for having fsdo, first shot drop off. However not all models have them. Most of them that do, can be taken care of very easily without spending money.
The problem is that the solenoid takes a little more juice the first time it is shot, so it runs a little slower sometimes, in some cases. You can treat the symptoms, by doing some simple maintainance and with the installation of a 25 dollar piece (NewDesigz Slick shaft wich also has other benefits) or you can treat the cause. The SP board is made by Matric. It does not give the noid enough power on the first shot. The guys at WAS know this, they fixed the problem with their board.
So if you get an Impulse, I highly suggest two upgrades
1. Slick Shot Ram Shaft by NewDesignz (best internal upgrade... all imps should have)
2. Equalizer Board by Wicked Air Sports (best eletronic upgrade... all imps should have)
That's my $.02
P.S. check the sites in my sig for way cheaper stock imps than $520

FSDO is now an older problem with Impulses because of some of the newer upgrades SP and ND have developed for the Imps. Yes it was a major issue with theo lder imps but now no one is blabbing about it as much.
I personally would say you should get teh Viking. Totally programmable BPS and adjustable PSI so you will rarely chop. I used to own a Vision I frame impulse. It was good but it weighed quite a bit with a full setup and was still very tall after i put on a tarantula low rise.
