Is the F-4 illustrator as good as the spyder SE or the Model 98 or the Pirahna STS G2?

The F4 GS or DX are really sweet looking. I cant make comparisons to pirahnas or tippmanns, cause its all personal preference with guns like these at this level.

the freind petwoody is refering to is me, im the one who owned an f4 illsutrator, the plain old origional f4. and yes it totally sucked, at times it would shoot 2-3 balls at a time. plus it had sh** for accuracy. im sure the other f4s are just fine but still i wouldnt recommend an f4 to any 1. go for a spyder or even a m98. plus the f4 is harder to upgrade, some places dont carrie upgrades.

Koolaid, ill bet u got a lemon or urs is an outdated earlier version (u said it was old) or it had something wrong with it and it wasnt modified to perfection like the newer ones, which are great in my opinion. The new F4s definitely have a wide range of upgradeability. Look at any paintball website and ull see that.

well the f4 i got is a tottaly stock f4, i added a lapco big shot barrel, aci sub-zero exspansion chamber, and a new bolt. after that it still had problems, but it also could have been a manufacterer problem, maybe the feed was too wide or something, well i dunno and i dont care b/c i sold it, to me i wouldnt waste my time or money on 1 ever again. so maybe ur right, maybe it was one of the out dated ones or maybe i was right and it was a manufacterer prob.

f4's stock are pretty decent. The trigger is sweet. The only downside is upgradability. There arent' many parts out ther for the F4, although if there were, i bet it would get to be a more popular gun.

exactly what i said, they suck for upgrading. they use the same barrels as the tippmann pro carbine..that sux.

a lemon is another word for a dud. When you get a case of paintballs, and you see a dimpled paintball, that is a lemon. or the Dud, whichever one you want to call it :D

My friend has an f-4 regular and it broke balls very often. We spent at least an hour fixing his gun out of 7 hours because when it breaks paint, it goes all up into the feed and into the bolt, so it is a pain for him, and we had to wait for him... He also kept going through co2 like crazy. My friends m98 and my intruder atx worked really well and not one ball break, I wouldn't recommend it to someone.

Yeah a lemon is just a product that has a wide range of defects with it. Usually if u get a "lemon", the manufacturer will test it out, and if it still doesnt work right, they will replace it with a new one. My computer was almost considered a lemon. I had to take it in to get it fixed twice in a month because of major problems. They said that if i would have had to bring it back one more time, it would have been considered a "lemon" and i probably could have returned it for another. BTW, one of the defects of my comp. was due to human error. :)

I agree that the F4 doesnt have the upgradeability of many other guns, but you can still do some modifications to make it a lot better than stock. Some guns, however, are made to be great at stock and a wide range of upgrades arent needed. Ive heard from some people that this is true with the F4.
