This guy i know up at my local field has an older (2k1) impulse which he has had for awhile. When he first got it I shot it a few games and really liked it, and now he wants to sell it. However, there is a catch, which I'll get to in one second...

First the specs:
2k1 Impulse
Original box/parts etc.
2 Bolts (stock and NDZ)
2 barrels (black teardrop and dust white progressive)
Dust white high rise (along with original black)
Black stock trigger frame w/ IPB Werm trigger (basically same as blade)
Internals are all stock for 2k1
Now the catch:
No board... you see he bought a new impulse (a dust white, which is why some parts on this are dust white) not too long ago because he had blown the board on this first one and for some reason decided not to buy a new board.

Here is what I'm thinking... buy the gun, all pretty cheap of course because of a lack of board and then just buy a new board.
The question becomes, how much should I pay for the gun and how should I go about with the board?

Option 1:
Buy the old style board (one that was in the 2k1 originally) for about $30 and use it until the WAS comes out. This would probably end up with me paying him a bit more for the gun, but not necessarily. He would just be like "the board is only $30, so just knock $30 off of it"

Option 2:
Buy a new cricket board (I would prefer non-vision due to fundage, but I can't find a non-vision around) and just go with that and forget the WAS

So, my question to all of you... How much is that gun worth? and which option?

Thanks

Also, what are the prices of the cricket boards? With and without vision?

id say give him 200-250 for it. then wait and buy the was board for it

That price is basically what he and I worked out, $200. However one change, there is no Tapeworm, it doesn't work, he just had the front piece to it (which is why i thought it had it).

However another change, which is a plus, is he will put the original trigger frame back on, which had the better trigger, but I can't remember what it was called (it wasn't a blade). I am pretty sure it was a Smart Parts trigger, but not the normal one.

The WAS board is gonna require installation of an eye as well, right? Because I found out this Impy is NOT vision-ready. I'm not exactly sure what all it will entail to make it "vision-ready", depending on the amount of work its not a big deal though.

you could always go on epaintballoutlet and get a new cricket board for like 55 bux(im not sure if there in stock but worth a try) as long as you dont care about the was board

the was board comes with an eye for like 120. im not really sure if you need a vision ready impulse to use a was board. you should try to find out.

You must be talking about the old style boards, which are $30 and out of stock. They are pre-cricket though, and I want at the very least a non-vision cricket.

However, I talked to the guy and he said that with some soldering and such I could get the board working again. The dwell switch (the little box for the dwell) has come away from the board and it only needs to be soldered back on. And then fix one wiring issue, which is no problem (electrician father :D ). So I may buy the gun, fix the board, and then wait for the WAS board (assuming 1. it doesnt require a vision-ready impulse or 2. the work to get it "vision/WAS-ready" isn't all too difficult). That may be my best way to go about it, what do you all think?

I will look in to the WAS/vision-ready question.

I e-mailed WAS and found out that the Equalizer board will require a vision-ready impulse to use the eye, however the eye is not required. Therefore if you have a non-vision ready impulse you can still use the Equalizer without the eye (assuming you have the holes tapped in the back of the trigger frame anyway)

Can you copy and paste the exact text they wrote?

All he said was "the eye is not required, you can simply set the rate of fire on the board"
