Hey i just bought a vision impulse (seriel number 11832) off of ebay it did not include a max-flo reg instead the guy gave me a stock 2003 vf autococker stock reghe used a maxflo tank system on it. Is it safe to run the impulse with that regulator. Also how can you tell if it has a cricket board? Thank you in advance for responding.

im not sure how low of a pressure that reg can put out consistantly, may be kinda iffy

if you have the cricketboard when you turn it on the light will be purple if its not a cricket it wil be another color, i forget which

I can't tell you whether that reg will work, but I do know that you need a reg that will operate well in the lower pressure ranges (say 110 psi - 220 psi). Stock cockers run at considerably higher pressures than the Imp. You might be better off buying a Max flo, rather than risking a blown solenoid.

As far as the board goes, if it has a flashing blue light in the back (when turned on), that is a cricket board.

the cricket board is blue light and the old board is green(i think) as far as the reg, im not real sure i would save up and buy a vert maxflow

you don't NEED a max-flo, just read up on those regs and see how low of an operating pressure they will go. You need a maximum of 200 psi minimum (meaning it has to be able to handle 200 psi or less)

I don't know about the Gen x, it might work fine. If you're looking for something other than a Maxi, I do know that the Bob Long Torpedo works great on an Imp. A buddy of mine uses one and gets no shoot down or other probs.

No 150 dollars for a new vertical max-flo regulator but thanks for tip on the bob long regulator. Does anybody else have personal experiences with regulators on their impulse other than a max-flo

You are probably going to need a new reg. If you already have a vertical adapter, you might as well sell the cocker reg since it is meant for higher pressures then the impulse runs at and get an AKA Sidewinder. The Sidewinder is the best reg on the market for low pressure. It can be bought in different sizes and the bottom swivels so that you can put your bottomline on in the place you want it. Plus it is cheaper then buying the vertical maxxy.

I am pretty sure you can find it on g3pb.com.
