 According to the reviews here at pbreview.com and the tippmann website the flatline adds over 100ft of range...omg! I have a couple of questions about it though, how long is the barrel? Because i like to play speedball sometimes and recball sometimes so im looking for versatility here. Another thing, does it make it inaccurate at close range? I've heard that it can do that:eyes: :eyes: The one thing im sure of though is that if the flatline makes my tippmann unreliable than i will become very angry!:pissed: I absolutely love my tippmann because it always works when my friends cockers and spyders break down and I get to keep playing.

Length:
A-5 10"
98C 14"

Does it make it inaccurate at close range? Yes & No.
I haven't try the A-5 flatline yet, but the 98C flatline is kind long, I had some problems to use it in close range. It is not the barrel inaccurate, is the length causing the problems. My experience is, if I move the gun BEFORE the balls shoot out from the barrel, they will do some funny thing. In speedball, when I run & shoot, or shoot moving target at close range, it's bad. If I shoot the gun sideway, balls will make a sharp turn, hit people hiding behind bunkers. That's cool.

I can't do well in speedball using the 98C flatline, but it did GREAT in the woods. SNIPING is the key word.

The barrel itself is very reliable as long as you use good paint. I use DUSK, it has very hard shell, won't break in your barrel.

uh well I have a flatline and its great for rec ball but you have to hold it at a 90 degree angle thats why its not good for speedball when your trying to snapshoot your not thinking about holding it straght up... and you have to install it right or else you'll hate it......

why would you want it for speedball? use the money for some else. unless your playing on a REALLY big speedball field..

This definitely isn't something I'd use if I were playing speedball.

Well I personally think it is amazing. The instalation process is incredibly easy. And don't let anyone tell you it takes a long time to perfect and install correctly. It took me a total of a half an hour at the very most. The only problem I really have with it is, the farther away you shoot the less of a chance you have on the balls breaking, (I use dusk, which might make a difference), but I plan on buying a madman spring kit which should eliminate that problem.

:o And another thing... The barrel, will never break a ball, but the feed rate might.

Don't forget, this barrel is perfect for sniping and if you plan on getting the best use out of it, you will probably be spending a lot less time running and shooting, but more on placing your shots and making one or two count.:D

Wait a minute, not good for speedball? Its not the size of your gun, its how you use it, for example, go here (http://www.pbreview.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=137985). Think about it, many people use 14" barrels anyway. The accuracy is pretty damn good, no matter what anyone says. It only takes a minute anyway. I have NEVER broken any balls in there, and i too, like many other flatliners, use diablo dusk paintballs. And, i too, plan to get the maddman spring kit, i heard it helps a lot.

:D I guess it's in the player. It works just fine for me. If you have a good team that helps also.Speedball woods it don't matter with a little practice , find out the barrels limitations , you'll find out that flatline barrel rule
