Question about Bolts

Hey I have a Spyder TL + and the bolt is really loud, it sounds like a hammer banging on metal. I havent really upgraded it much other than a new barrel. Anyways I want to know a way to make it quieter. Would a new bolt do this? Ive played for about 3 years but Ive never bothered with any of this so I could use some help.

(If it is the bolt try an suggest another one that would work pretty good)

the only thing that will make your marker quieter is the barrel. You will have to get one with more porting. What kind of barrel do you use now since you said you upgraded to another one? I would recomand the Dye Excel barrel in a 12" because it has about four inchs of porting and is only 40 dollars.

I was thinking it was the bolt because It sounds like metal hitting metal whenever the bolt fires. The barrel dosnt seem that loud. You probably know better than me though lol, that was just my guess.

the bolt could be part of it but it would mostly be the barrel. How much porting does it have. Porting are those litlle holes on the end of your barrel, just incase you didn't know. Also is it in straight lines or in a spiral?

You could do two really simple mods to see if it is the bolt. Take the venturi out of the bolt to help air flow and then polish the internals so metal doesn' t go up against metal.

Its spiraled and probably about 3 inches of porting or more.
(I dont have it with me right now, Ill post the exact length of the porting later)

Ive always taken apart and cleaned the gun after I used it but Im not sure what the venturi is lol. plz explain.

the venturi is the star shaped object in the bolt. to take it out take off your barrel and put a pair of neddel nose pliars into your bolt. Once you have them in the holes of the star twist to the left and remove. Its screwed in their so you will have to give it a few twists.

oh that should be enough, if you want help on getting out your venturi go to the kingman forum and look at the upgrade sticky or the mod one it will tell you how to do it in there.
