cockers short stroke, i know that, i've never ever heard of a mag short stroking , i don't think its possible..
w/ a cocker, basically, short stroking is just not pulling it completely and causing it to f up, some cockers are a lot easier to short stroke than others , and "learning the trigger" is learning not to short stroke, w/ a cocker.

The problem you can have with mags only occurs if you are fireing so fast that the reg does not have time to fully regass between shots. This will result in a loss of velocity in a sustained string of shots. You have to shoot VERY fast in order for this to occur.
Cockers have a situation(cocker owners please correct me if I have this wrong) where if you short stroke the trigger it will chop balls. Messy!
Either gun will function fine once you learn its limitations and get used to the trigger. I would practice firing fast before you go out and get on the field. Learning the trigger will boost your confidence in your gear and make you a better player on gameday.
Both guns have aftermarket parts that will help with these issues.
